It is hard to imagine losing a place.

For six years we came to this place, as a family of three, creating a tradition filled with lasting memories. We learned to hike. We learned to fish. We slept in our first bunkbed and saw our first moose. We made new friends, enjoyed meals and songs around the campfire, and had heaps of french fries with plenty of ketchup.

For six years we made the journey up here, never once thinking that we wouldn’t be able to do it again the next year.

At this point we don’t know if anyone will be able to access this land after this year, and it is so hard to think that we have just lost one of our most memorable family traditions.

Piney River Ranch, you will surely be missed. Thank you for the memories, the views, the fresh air and friends, and of course, the ketchup.

Is the land not public forest all surrounding the 66 acres including the road up? Isn’t Piney River also public forest? My OnX app is showing it’s all public

I’m so glad Piney was such a special part of your family’s story. Thank you for sharing these beautiful memories. It’s families like yours that made it so much more than just a ranch. Thanks for the love you’ve shown this magical place over the years🫎 #foreverpiney
