In what appears to be a series of booking errors, I have been scheduled for three appearances at this year’s Hull Comedy Festival. All ticket links in bio. Why wait until your diary fills up with something even worse?

The festival’s annual showcase of Hull’s funniest. I’m on it, which raises some questions about the selection process. From £13.50.

My solo hour. “Note-perfect stand-up from one of the second best comedians in Hull” is what it says on the wildly ambitious poster. Killer lines, stone cold delivery. Pay what you want (as long as it’s at least £5).

3. QUIP SPICE
Sat 14 Nov, 9pm · Pop Up Space, Fruit Market
Stand-up, improv and outright mayhem from some of Hull’s leading comedians. I’m one of them, administratively speaking. This was a lot of fun last year. From £6.

🚨 Punjab Bandh Over Drugs, But Dandiya Night at GGDSD College? ISF Questions SDCU!

While Punjab stood up against the drug menace, a Dandiya Night was organised at GGDSD College, sparking questions over the timing of the event. 🔥

ISF has raised allegations against SDCU, questioning why the celebration was held on a day when Punjab Bandh had been called against drugs. ISF also claimed that several students could not attend the event due to the bandh.

Was the timing of the event appropriate, or should the organisers have considered the situation in Punjab? 👀

When Punjab is raising its voice against drugs, should student organisations also reflect on their social responsibility?

Most people think reflux is just “too much acid.”

It’s not.

A huge part of it is a weak LES… the valve between your stomach and esophagus that’s supposed to keep acid down.

Mine was so weak that even water caused reflux.

Here are the things that helped me strengthen it the most 👇

1: Choline → Acetylcholine → Stronger LES

One of the biggest things people miss.

Choline helps your body produce acetylcholine… a neurotransmitter heavily involved in muscle contraction and LES function.

Eggs/ Liver are one of the best sources.

And if you’re deficient? That area gets weaker over time.

2: Fix nutrient deficiencies

Low magnesium, zinc, B vitamins, electrolytes… all affect muscle strength, nerve signaling, digestion, and reflux.

This is why some people keep getting symptoms even after “eating healthy.”

Your body can’t hold that valve shut properly if it lacks the raw materials.

3: Extended exhale breathing

This was one of the first things that gave me relief.

Longer exhales calm the nervous system, reduce pressure patterns around the stomach, and improve vagus nerve signaling… which directly affects the LES.

Simple… but powerful.

4: Diaphragmatic + pursed lip breathing

This is more advanced.

Don’t do this while actively burning or refluxing badly.

Use it once symptoms calm down and you want to strengthen the area further.

This builds better diaphragmatic pressure and strengtns around the LES.

5: Stop “managing” stress. Start strengthening yourself.

Stress will always exist.

Suffering unnecessarily and staying constantly dysregulated is optional.

Aggressively cut down unnecessary stress, negativity, doom scrolling, toxic people, and habits that keep your nervous system weak.

And at night… melatonin + L-theanine can help a lot, especially if your symptoms get worse when anxious or sleep deprived.

After a year and a half, the embargo is beginning to lift!

I don’t really know where to begin with this post. I spent 10 weeks in 2024 doing motion capture for the character of Rylan Grace in @projecthailmary - 10 weeks of building the most intricate sequences for pre-vis for what would be an utterly fantastic movie.

This was by far the most exhausting job I have ever done in my career, but also the most rewarding. I cannot thank @framestore enough for trusting me with such a delicate and important role. Getting to go to the new Shepperton studios 5/6 days a week for 10 weeks, and spending those days with @phillordy @chrizmillr and @greigfraser_dp was utterly surreal. And on top of that, to be working so closely with the most insanely talented team at Framestore. Every single day was a joy, and I could not be prouder of what we all achieved, and of what I committed to the project.
