Earlier this summer, Mika was one of 5 German Shepherds who arrived at the shelter after being abandoned. At just 9 months old, she had so much of the world left to discover and needed a patient, loving family to help her find her confidence.
And during our Hot Dogs adoption campaign, that's exactly what she found! 🥹
These days, Mika's enjoying backyard adventures, games of tug, learning new tricks and plenty of love from her new family.
"She’s doing amazing, she’s so sweet and goofy [...] she’s so smart, knows a bunch of new tricks, we’re working on recall and trying to build her confidence, overall adopting her was the best decision 💜"
We couldn't be happier for Mika, and we're so grateful to her family for giving her the wonderful life she deserves! Follow Mika's adventures at @worldwith.mika.

If you were considering wether to adopt or go to a kennel and get a puppy, please consider adopting a rescue even a big dog like Micah practice makes perfect. I have adopted two large dogs, both of which were way more than I could handle to be honest with you once I got them home, but I found a good trainer and I didn’t need a lot of training. I just learned what to do From a couple of appointments and then a couple of months later when they were ready for that next step bring in the trainer again it’s it doesn’t have to break the bank but the main Takeaway is this practice makes perfect when they know you’re committed and dedicated every day you stick to a schedule for a while. They will forgive you for just about anything if they trust youpractice makes perfect.
