Becoming a stronger dancer starts with becoming a stronger human. πͺπ½
Want to improve your leaps and jumps? You have to train them! π
Strength and power are related, but they are not the same.
Strength training focuses on your ability to produce force. It builds the foundation that helps you push off the floor, control your body, and handle physical demands.
Power training focuses on producing force quickly. It teaches you to use your strength explosively so you can jump higher, move faster, and react more efficiently.
That means incorporating:
π₯ Strength training to build force capacity and control
π₯ Power training to apply force quickly and explosively
π₯ Plyometrics to develop reactivity and use the stretch-shortening cycle
π₯ Jump training to improve takeoff mechanics, coordination, and height
π₯ Landing mechanics to absorb force safely and prepare for the next movement
You need strength to create force, but you need power to express that force quickly.
Train your strength. Train your power. Train the movements you want to improve. π«Άπ½
