We’re grateful to the J.J. “Book” Wilson Field of Interest Fund at The Dallas Foundation for supporting Mapping Memory: The Constellation of Living Memorials Cultural Archaeology Education Program with a $20,000 grant!
This funding will help us not only remember history, restore habitat, and reconnect community in Lagow Cemetery, it will enable Southern Methodist University Hunt Institute and Dallas College to create programs and curricula that enable future leaders to do this important work. A diverse cohort of partners that additionally includes Texas Trees Foundation, Jackson-Breeding Consultant Group, Bertrand Neighborhood Association, Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, Dallas County, and Texas Historical Foundation will turn this sacred ground into a thriving green space that serves the surrounding community while respecting those interred.
