Texas Trees Foundation joined Hill College in Hillsboro for a tree planting made possible by Atmos Energy, bringing 100 new trees to campus.
These trees are an investment in the health and well-being of Hill College students, faculty, and the campus community for years to come. As these trees grow, they’ll create cooler, greener spaces where students can study, gather, walk, and recharge. Access to trees and nature can help reduce stress and support mental well-being, focus, and concentration, creating an outdoor environment that supports students both inside and outside the classroom. 🌱
A huge thank you to all of the volunteers who rolled up their sleeves and helped make this planting possible! Your hard work is helping grow a greener, healthier campus. 💚

Texas Trees Foundation joined Haltom City, UPS, and Arbor Day Foundation at Haltom Road Park to plant 60 new trees with the help of dedicated volunteers.
With industrial areas located near this neighborhood park, adding trees can make a meaningful difference for the community. As these trees grow, they’ll provide shade, help cool the surrounding area, and capture carbon from the air, helping reduce the buildup of greenhouse gases that contribute to climate change.
Trees also help improve air quality by filtering pollutants from the air. Cleaner air means healthier communities, particularly for children and others who are more vulnerable to respiratory issues like asthma.
These 60 trees are more than new additions to the landscape. They’re an investment in cleaner air, cooler spaces, and a healthier future for Haltom City. 💚🌱
Thank you to UPS, Arbor Day Foundation, Haltom City, and all of the volunteers who helped put down roots for the community! by @texastreesfoundation

🌳💚 This World Mental Health Day, let’s talk about the power of green space.
Trees do more than cool our neighborhoods and improve air quality. Access to nature can also support our mental health and well-being.
The World Health Organization reports that green spaces are associated with reduced risk of depression and anxiety, lower stress, improved well-being, and greater opportunities for social connection.
And the evidence goes beyond simply being around nature. A systematic review of 50 studies found that nature-based activities were associated with improvements in depressive mood, anxiety, and positive affect in adults.
That’s why trees and accessible green spaces are more than amenities. They are part of healthy communities. 🌳
This World Mental Health Day, take a walk beneath the trees, spend a few minutes in a park, or simply find a moment to connect with nature. And let’s continue working toward a time when all Texans have access to the mental health and wellness benefits of green space. 💚

🍎🌳 Happy World Teachers’ Day!
Today, we’re celebrating the teachers who inspire curiosity, spark creativity, and help students see the world around them in new ways. Their impact reaches far beyond the classroom, shaping how the next generation learns, grows, and connects with their communities.
Through our Cool Schools Program™, Texas Trees Foundation brings learning outdoors with nature-based, TEKS-aligned lesson plans that connect students to trees, green infrastructure, science, and the natural world around them. 🌱📚
Over the years, our Cool Schools Program has impacted over 2,500 teachers, equipping educators with resources to make nature part of the learning experience.
Thank you, teachers, for helping grow the next generation of thinkers, stewards, and community leaders! 💚

🌳 Cool Schools are making Dallas cooler, healthier and more connected to nature.
Thanks to our multi-year partnership with Amazon and collaboration with Dallas ISD, Texas Trees Foundation has transformed J.N. Ervin Elementary School and Dr. Frederick Douglas Todd Sr. Middle School, our 47th and 48th Cool Schools™ campuses.
Together, these campuses now have 270 additional trees, outdoor classrooms, loop trails, heat-safe play areas and environmental education opportunities designed to help more than 1,000 students and 8,000 community members learn, play and thrive outdoors.
And the impact will continue to grow. By 2060, the new tree canopy is projected to provide the equivalent of more than five football fields of shade across both campuses.
At Ervin, our research shows the new trees could help lower the average projected temperature from 87.7°F to 81.7°F by 2060. That six-degree difference can mean more opportunities for students to safely spend time learning and playing outside instead of staying indoors because of extreme heat.
This is what happens when schools, communities and partners come together to invest in trees. 🌳💚
Thank you to Amazon and Dallas ISD for helping us create greener, cooler spaces where students and their communities can grow and thrive.

Build the Next Generation of Urban Forestry Knowledge
📚 Building a healthier urban forest starts with building a deeper connection to trees.
Texas Trees Foundation is committed to helping communities understand, value, and care for the trees that shape their neighborhoods. Through education programs, hands-on learning experiences, and community stewardship opportunities, we empower residents of all ages to become champions for a greener future.
By fostering knowledge, engagement, and long-term care, we're growing more than tree canopy. We're cultivating a culture of stewardship that helps ensure today's trees continue to benefit communities for generations to come.
