Singaporean actor
@jialerkoh_’s journey into film began with serendipity, when he was 11 years old. Now, fresh off the third and final instalment of Anthony Chen’s ‘Growing Up’ trilogy, Koh’s approach to acting is more discerning, more sure of his path. “Can I play this character as well as him? Can I be better than him? How can this actor play this character so well?” he mused.
The trilogy saw Koh go from the young boy in ‘Ilo Ilo’ to playing a father in ‘We Are All Strangers’, so much so that whatever path awaits him feels equally fated. “I want to challenge myself with characters who are very different from who I am,” he says. “There is always something new to discover.”
