Here's the Gala last evening. Thank you everyone who came out specially to see our premiere 😭🙏🏻🙏🏻

So so glad my fam and my sandbox fam was able to make it!! 🥹 But for those who couldn't, just know that you were right there with me in my jacket pocket right next to my heart. ❤️

For the cast, it is so great to get to hang out with y'all again all together, it's almost impossible outside of these events with everyone's crazy schedules, so so grateful that we got to have this.

And a huge shoutout to the crew and the @mochachai family who was there from the pre-production until the gala night holding the roof up for us, thank you all so so much.

A re-introduction of myself! Via a high speed exposition dump of my journey so far 😂 Or at least, just the highlight bits that made the most impact on my career and me as a person.

It really has been a pretty crazy decade now that i look back like this. Seemed like utter chaos living forward, but tracing the dots backwards, it really did feel like I was being prepared for the things to come.

Grateful for everything; the good, the bad, and the inexplicable grey all in between. And i owe a lot of it to the people who helped me along the way. The nurturing guidances, those whom cared enough to give me harsh lessons, and the mountains we climbed together.

And because I’m often a bundle of mess, I hope I’ll have you all around me to help us forward ever more in the journey that is to come.

Day 2 since we opened officially in theatres, here's a throwback to some of my fav unit stills by @nicholasxlee @nico_withacamera

Now as we drop in on theatre-showing to surprise and thank the moviegoers, and as a result getting to watch the tail end of the movie each time again, I'm even more viscerally grateful for this film and everyone who worked, invested, supported, performed, produced, coordinated and made it happen, allowing the space to continue on living in another way.

Every set of eyes that sees the film is yet another mind which the space will live on in another form in the world.

Gosh, I miss the space so much these days. Not being able to drop in any time to see the familiar faces, and train with the team for the past 3 weeks has been surreal. And i'm sure everyone in the active team has been grieving in their own way too. Sigh. Where do I put all these feelings crawling over my chest, reaching down into my gut, wrapped around my throat. taken in Sandbox Training Ground by @pepsgoh

Tonight we have the gala, and it is time for celebrations, though inside I have yet to properly process the events of the past weeks.

On one hand, we have achieved things I had only dared to hope for in the conception of the space, so much of which are to the credit of the team. And on the other hand, there is equally as many things I had set out to do that I have failed to complete.

Jumping right into a 9-5 after, made it hard for me to have time to process and untangle the messy threads that are my regrets and grief in the day. And in the cold of each night since, the weight of my shortcomings and failures sits on my chest like the foot of a rhino, so heavily i can hardly breath.

These words are just words, so don't fret them, and failures are only temporary as long as we get up again. But don't mind while I wait a few more counts before it reaches 10, to catch a breather first, to reflect and to recover. by @pepsgoh

I usually do these only at the end of each year, but it's my bday today, so ima do whatever I want 😂 But anyways, I started this series in the beginning to keep myself accountable with my training and to celebrate my growth in Sandbox.

Seems fitting to close series with the end of Sandbox, after all it'll probably be weird to still be posting training clips in the space at the end of the year when it would've been a few months after the closing.

Looking at each year by itself I'm always pretty hard on myself that I'm not progressing as much as I felt I could. But looking back as a whole over 5 years, I think I did pretty good!

They ain't perfect, but I'm proud of how far I have brought my Jackknife and Icy Cork. And now it's time to take my training back into the streets ❤️‍🩹 Lets gooooo

In loving memory of Sandbox Training Ground.

Last week, Sandbox Training Ground was taken apart and closed down. We hope The Sandbox film will serve to memorialise the space, as well as the joy experienced by those who made memories within its walls.

May we persist in fostering community, passion and our dreams, even as the spaces we gather in continue to change and disappear.

Here's what I chose to do for my final choreo prac during the overnight closing session, a group fight with mah bois 🔥 an absolutely unhinged chaos 😂😂

The intention was to include inspirations of films we watched tgt recently that we loved, as well as new takedown technique we made last week, built around the group fight system that we developed together last month.

A hella fun one to memorialise the space and what it was 🥹❤️❤️ Editing this i had almost forgotten for a moment that everything is already torn down.

But i suppose that's the beauty of what we do, every single piece of practice we had done there is a snapshot frozen in time, eternally preserved of who we were then, how we moved, and what we believed in.
