North Melbourne turned blue today 💙😉 and what a beautiful day it was for the Queensberry Cup! @queensberrycup

The weather was absolutely perfect, the community turnout was wonderful, and the atmosphere along Errol Street was full of colour, laughter, cheering, and local pride. A huge thank you to everyone who came along, and especially to our marvellous local volunteers your energy, generosity and hard work made this event such a success.

The Queensberry Cup is more than a billycart race. It is a celebration of North Melbourne: our creativity, our diversity, our businesses, our families, and the strong community spirit that makes this neighbourhood so special.

It was also a timely reminder of the importance of our neighbourhood house. This year’s Cup marked 50 years of the North & West Melbourne Neighbourhood Centre — a place that brings people together, supports local residents, builds connections, and helps our community thrive. Events like this show exactly why neighbourhood houses matter: they create belonging, opportunity, and shared joy.

And we were treated to a beautiful presentation of Forró from Brazil from @lovetoforro.melbourne North Melbourne was Brazilian too! 💙🇧🇷

And what a surprise at the end of the day visiting Sokol Melbourne Inc. / Czech House was a wonderful way to finish such a special community celebration. 💙
