Arklight

Deeply appreciate all the well wishes and people checking in about how Papa Arklight @ron_kolm is doing, so we wanted to give an update: Ron is still in the hospital, he is at Mount Sinai in East Harlem (on Madison Ave, between 98th and 102nd St.). He's recovering from a 2nd surgery to bypass the area of his intestine (the duodenum) where an ulcer had torn a hole, and to put a type of feeding tube (a J tube) that can get nutrients to him and avoid the trouble area. On the positive side, the doctors are encouraged by his vital signs and the bypass seems to have been successful, but he is definitely not out of the woods. On the negative side, Ron has gotten super bummed out (very understandably) after being in the hospital for over 3 weeks and his mental health is definitely suffering. I'm giving the name and location of the hospital in this post because I think that visits are good for him, please go see him if you are a friend and have the time. Visiting hours are 9am-9pm and you can ask at the front desk what room he is in. Please keep your visits brief and positive, do NOT bring any food, as he is on a very strict clear liquid diet, and definitely stay out of the way of the doctors and nurses if they are working with him, they've been wonderful and we need them to be able to do their work.
