So one of things I’m looking for, when mudlarking, is colour. I like it when something LEAPS up out of the grey/black mud, catching my eye and making me bend down to look more closely. These are the things that drew me in yesterday, on a gorgeous day after the water has started to drop: a piece of an incinerated blue bottle, a chunk of orange-red vase, and some broken dishes. Now two of the pieces seem to have spongeware decoration but they could be transferware imitations of spongeware.
