Times have changed dramatically over the past few decades, with everything from technology and entertainment to everyday household products evolving as companies adapt to new manufacturing methods and consumer demands. While modern products often benefit from improved technology, cheaper production and more efficient designs, many people believe certain items have lost the attention to detail that made older versions special. Toys are a particularly interesting example because children who grew up in the 1990s and early 2000s remember products that often featured intricate designs, durable materials and small details that weren’t necessarily important to how the toy functioned. As manufacturing costs, safety requirements and production priorities have changed, companies have sometimes simplified their products to make them easier and less expensive to produce.
