Get ready for the event of THE YEAR!🦬💨
This Saturday, October 24th, Antelope Island State Park is hosting the annual Bison Roundup!
Once a year, nearly 800 wild bison are rounded up across the island and moved to holding corrals to keep the herd healthy. During Phase 1, hundreds of horseback riders work together to push the bison north into rest corrals. It’s a true Western spectacle, and you’re invited to witness it first-hand!
📍 Best Spots to Watch
🦬Along the East Side Road: Watch the riders drive the herd north starting at 9:00 AM.
(Get there early! Car parking along the east side road has limited capacity)
🦬Roundup Rendezvous Event: Starting at 10 AM, this is the prime spot to watch the final push into the corrals! Stick around for vendor booths!
🦬White Rock Bay Viewing Area: Grab a great view of the action! Bring a camp chair or blanket to relax while you watch.
(The roundup usually wraps up between 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM, but wild animals run on their own schedule!!)
Remember: these giant, “fluffy cows” are not only wild and unpredictable,but they are surprisingly FAST. If a bison decides to cross the road or head your way, stay inside your vehicle and KEEP YOUR DISTANCE!
