Today’s math lesson: Run the diner
I love leaning into play to solidify new concepts we are learning. Restaurant and shopping play in particular bring a variety of individual skills together in a way thats both useful and fun. In fact, the boys had so much fun running their diner that they kept playing long after our lesson was done.
Skills at work:
* Navigating/reading menus
* Communication, manners and role playing through order taking
* Building equations
* Handwriting
* Addition and subtraction
* Money sense - counting out the money and figuring out the change
