ラルフ ローレンの日本上陸50周年を記念して開催される「PoloFest」に向けて、サシコギャルズもお祝いの気持ちを込めて、特製の「ポロベア」を制作しました。

サシコギャルズが力を合わせ、70時間以上をかけて一針一針、丁寧に刺し子を施しました。ベア本体は手作り、身にまとったセーターも手編みで仕上げています。

目と鼻には、大槌町のジビエプロジェクトよりご提供いただいた鹿革をアップサイクルして使用しています。

アメリカ文化を体現するラルフ ローレンと、日本の伝統技法である刺し子を現代の感性で表現するサシコギャルズ。ふたつの文化が手仕事を通じて出会った、特別な共作をぜひ会場でご覧ください。

To celebrate Ralph Lauren’s 50th anniversary in Japan, SASHIKO GALS has created a one-of-a-kind Polo Bear for PoloFest, made with love and heartfelt congratulations.

Working together, the SASHIKO GALS artisans spent over 70 hours carefully stitching each sashiko pattern by hand. The bear itself is entirely handmade, and even its sweater has been hand-knitted.

The eyes and nose are crafted from upcycled deer leather provided by a local gibier project in Otsuchi, Iwate Prefecture.

Ralph Lauren embodies American culture, while SASHIKO GALS brings a contemporary perspective to the traditional Japanese art of sashiko.

Through the beauty of handcraftsmanship, these two cultures come together in a truly special creation.
