“Hypernature” by Astrid Zweynert, one of 30 photographers in our group exhibition ‘Connected:Disconnected’, currently at Photofusion in Brixton.
“I explore visual narratives that reflect the interplay between the real and the imaginary in urban and rural landscapes,” says Astrid. “Birches often catch my eye. Ubiquitous in urban landscape design, these elegant trees are often deployed to create an exaggerated simulation of the natural world. Through the abstraction in my images, I reveal a paradox: what was meant to reconnect us with nature is now a stylised, hypernatural design tool.”
📅Exhibition dates: Oct 27 - 31 from 10 am to 6 pm 👀Private view: Come join us on Thu Oct 29 / 6:30 - 9 pm 📍Photofusion 2 Beehive Place/SW9 7 QR/Nearest tube: Brixton/Rail: Brixton
Love your colour version Astrid. Photography incorporates the real world but adding artistic freedom adds something from your inner world as well and makes the image even richer in meaning. Hope to see more like this.
