As a columnist and Health Beat Reporter in Opinion, my article is about doctors’ increasing interest in using AI. My opinion is that AI can be a supportive tool for doctors, but they should not solely rely on it to maintain patients’ trust, ensure medical accuracy, and preserve clinical skills. I discuss AI’s impact on note-taking, imaging reports and X-rays, and automating tasks.

Thank you to Dr. Jivan Lamichhane, a hospitalist at Upstate University Hospital @upstatemedical , for allowing me to interview you on the innovative capabilities of AI and also what to be cautious about with AI.

I enjoyed doing extensive research by reading published research papers and data from the American Medical Association. I quoted eye-opening articles on AI in medicine by Dr. Helen Ouyang and Dr. Rachael Bedard, as well as gained insight by reading Dr. Dhruv Khullar’s article.

As a pre-med student at Syracuse University in the BS/MD Program with SUNY Upstate Medical University and a dual major in biology and journalism, I learned a lot by exploring how AI impacts the field I plan to enter. @suartsciences @newhousesu @newhousemnd
