We’ve never really told the whole story of Slumberkins. And honestly, part of that is because we didn’t know how the story would end.

For years, we have talked about creating a space to share the side of entrepreneurship that people don’t always see. The emotional side of building a business with your best friend. The highs, the heartbreak, the hard decisions, and everything we’ve learned along the way.

We even had a name for it. Founder Feels. ❤️

It was always one of those ideas we’d get to someday, when we had more time, more clarity, or a better plan.

Well, if there’s anything this season is teaching us, it’s that sometimes you just have to start before you’re ready.

With everything happening at Slumberkins and all the questions we’ve been getting about our business, our journey, and how we’re actually doing through all of this, it feels like maybe now is the time.

Last Friday, before we shared our announcement this week, we sat down and recorded a conversation. Just the two of us, trying to process what we were about to share with the world. We wanted to capture some of the real, raw moments between two best friends and co-founders navigating something neither of us ever imagined we’d be facing.

And we realized that maybe those conversations are exactly what Founder Feels was always meant to be.

So here we are. Launching something we’re not entirely prepared to launch, in the middle of one of the most uncertain chapters of our lives.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll start sharing more of these conversations, pieces of our story, and what it actually feels like to build, lead, love, and potentially lose something you’ve poured so much of yourself into.

We don’t know how this chapter ends. But maybe that’s the point. We don’t have to wait until we’re on the other side to talk about what it feels like to be in the middle of it.

Welcome to @founderfeels ❤️ We’re glad you’re here. ✨

As a fellow entrepreneur also in a very scary and uncertain chapter after eight long hard but awesome years, I empathize and grieve with you, I understand the fear, I don’t have much to say other than solidarity and thank you for this new outlet. My therapist just told me there should be a business owner therapy group because it is so isolating. No one understands the challenges and the perspective other than a fellow entrepreneur. My six year old daughter has grown up with Slumberkins, she has almost the entire collection now. Another one of her favorites is Franklin. In the book “Franklin goes to the hospital” he acts tough but is scared on the inside, the lesson is this: “being brave doesn't mean you aren't scared; it means doing what you need to do even when you are afraid.” Entrepreneurship has been the single most difficult journey I’ve ever walked. But man has it taught me resilience.!! If our company were to close tomorrow, the lessons we learned along the way and the personal development that the journey required, no one can take those away. Even Jeff Probst on Survivor said being voted out doesn’t mean you’re a failure. Success is more than just results. It’s how you play the game along the way. @slumberkins has changed thousands of peoples lives. Those tools have quite possible shifted an entire generation. I know my grandparents and parents did not have emotional support tools. I wish they did!!! But we have them now and that’s a great start to changing generational patterns. Regardless of the future im forever grateful for slumberkins and this new outlet!!!!! 🤍🤍
