Acoustic strings on an electric guitar?!?? What the heck does that sound like? Does it even work?!?

Our dude @leighfugeguitar did a little experimentation so you don’t have to.

Watch to the end!

A little less edge maybe but sounded better than I would have expected.

Adds little mud and changes the tone, perfectly pleasant. Depends what you're going for.

It works, and why wouldn’t it, but the acoustics have less sharpness/attack. That’s due to the material.

It works, because it's still 'steel' at the end of the day, pickups work by getting their magnetic field disturbed by the string, so if anything that is steel disturbs the magnetic field, a sound is produced, nylon strings won't work tho as they're not made of steel

The amount of times I’ve been told that acoustic strings don’t work with magnetic pickups 😂😂😂.
