Decades before AI… we just made art. I was surprised by 2 friends this week I often collaborated with. One is photographer David Armstrong. We worked SO well together if he had an idea at midnight he would call me & I’d haul ass from my home in Hollywood to the home he shared in Beverly Hills with Clive Barker & we would shoot well into the next afternoon. From 1998-2008 we had a TIME! He surprised me this morning with images he took in 1999 & reimagined as a comic series to share with his grandsons after their mother told them of our adventures together… I get to be a villain 🤣

A few days ago @putridmutt who helped me create ALL the branding for Single Serving
including the animated intro & theme song for the pilot sent me a remix he did of the theme song & I just burst out in tears. While AI has been such a powerful tool in some cases (even in art) it still moves me beyond words to see what human beings are able to create when their mind & heart is connected with their hands.

Anyhoo… it made me think of the times someone was inspired to create something where I was their muse. Incredibly grateful for these gifts. Here are a few from over the years starting with David’s original photo 🎨🫶🏾

Reimagined for his series 2026

I mean she even gets to keep my name 🔥

@putridmutt & I met when he saw a photo Toma shot of me & DM’d me this on MySpace inspired by Sin City. We became IMMEDIATE friends & spent 4 years working on my brand

@putridmutt created my first gif from this shot in Stuff Magazine… ugh I wish I had the originals to show you the before & afters of what he reimagined

A former coworker Luke surprised me with this. He also made me a bomb Thai Beef Salad

This was also a really nice surprise. My menopause brain fog is kicking in & I can’t recall her name 😩

@putridmutt also created my first avatar… 16/17 years ago

A wonderful Haitian artist Yael Talley Rand blew me away with this one 🇭🇹👑
