Painting is my language,” says Sebastian Hosu. In his Leipzig studio, he works both intuitively and with great precision: using brush and squeegee, he shapes pictorial spaces that breathe and vibrate, in which the moment of their creation
becomes inscribed. Color appears as a living material whose physical presence stands in contrast to the fleeting nature of the depicted moment.

Sebastian Hosu (1988 in Satu Mare, RO) grew up in Romania
and studied painting and fine art in Cluj-Napoca at the
University of Art and Design, as well as at the Accademia
Albertina di Belle Arti in Turin (2008–2010). After completing
a master’s degree in painting at the Académie Royale des
Beaux-Arts in Liège (Belgium), he continued his studies
as a master student at the Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig
(graduating in 2016). His works are collected and exhibited
nationally and internationally. In addition to successful large-
scale solo exhibitions in Leipzig, numerous exhibitions in
Dubai (2025), Berlin (2024), Bucharest (2023), and Hong Kong
(2022), among them museum (G2 Kunsthalle in 2025-26 and
the National Museum of Art of Romania in Bukarest in 2025)
and gallery shows, mark important milestones in his career about the art of Sebastian Hosu
