What a week! I got to take @tocatchasiren across the pond to Utah, to the legendary @filmquest
Sunday saw me arrive after 15h of travel, where wonderful @kelseymarieedwards picked me up from the airport.
Monday and Tuesday was filled with film and industry talks, such as an in depth analysis of Jaws. Shoutout to @theavalanchefilm and @bravadofilmofficial which I particularly enjoyed alongside a great many brilliant short films!
We also had a fantastic talk about indie film distribution with Jon Fitzgerald @onthefestcircuit
Wednesday was the big day for me - screening To Catch a Siren, getting beautiful audience reactions! ❤️ If you happened to have seem the film and liked it - do leave us a review on Letterboxd! 🧜♀️
The evening saw us all get dressed up crazy and networking at the “Monsters at Prom Halloween Party and Karaoke”! I chose Lydia Deetz from Beetlejuice 💃🏻 Shoutout to @zvd.jpeg for those incredible photos! And of course fabulous @stray_rae and @_timsharp
Thursday was a rest day for me, before Friday started with a hilarious networking brunch and continued with many many more films, including @gauafilm which stayed with me for its stunning visuals.
And finally Saturday ended this wild ride with the award night, where - while we didn’t win Best Fantasy Short - we did get lots of wonderful feedback and just had a fantastic time celebrating the enormous talent of genre filmmakers present at this festival! To so many new friends made, amazing audiences and inspiration found! ✨✨✨
