A Resting Place is launching our End-of-Year Giving Campaign: Grow with Grief! Help us reach our $15k goal by December 31st. SHARE WIDELY! Link in bio — All donations are tax deductible!🍂🌟🍄‍🟫

Your generous and loving donations will ensure that our little grief and loss cultural resource center in the CID can remain open and continue to serve our community throughout Winter and Spring 2027. We are grateful for the ways you uplift our collective grief work!🍂🌟🍄‍🟫

This fall season in the PNW, the natural world is actively grieving: leaves are turning their colors waiting to depart from their branches, flocks of birds are leaving their homes to migrate south for warmth, all while the sun lays to rest earlier in the day, ushering in the cool and crisp Autumn air. As the natural world prepares for and endures its endings, it does not stop moving. Despite all the endings, the world around us remains active in its growth! Just like our ecosystems, we too grow amidst our grief. As we launch our End-of-Year Giving Campaign, A Resting Place invites us to reflect on the question: How have you grown in your grief? Comment below!🍂🌟🍄‍🟫
.
.
A Resting Place is ever growing and we need YOUR support to help us nurture our evolution! All donated funds go towards supporting our operations and on-going free/low cost programs like healing arts workshops, community memorials, and open hours. Every amount gifted is meaningful. Donate today and share with us how you’ve grown in your grief. Let’s grieve, grow, and heal together!🍂🌟🍄‍🟫

i love this question. my growth has come only through grieving whats lost, whats past, whats released… the greatest lessons i’ve unearthed in my life happen via a process where at the end, i no longer am where i started. whether i look back at that starting point with nostalgia or good riddance, the underlying experience is a kind of grief.

I have grown in my grief to allow myself more space and ease to feel through it. That my grief lives with me, it is not me, and it will not leave me. To allow it the space to be nourished like a luscious plant, it will never leave me and I send my grief all the love and care in the world, because through my grief is where I give back in love and care.

Growing in grief has allowed me to feel all the emotions without shame or guilt. I have been able to support others through their grief by helping normalize it more and being vulnerable as well. Thank you ARP for continuing to hold space for the community and being a great support and resource ❤️❤️

I’ve grown in my grief in learning how to let it walk alongside me every day. Sometimes she needs to be tended to and sometimes she just wants to tag along! Thank you @arestingplace.sea for being the best spot to let all our grief companions seek well-tending or a spot to rest 🚬🌀

there's so much to say about how much I continue to grow through not only my own grief, but through holding space for others' grief. like so many folks, I once held the belief that my strength relied on appearing unflappable in hard times, never revealing my own hurt, often in isolation when it came to my own feelings. in grief, I've grown to learn that when it comes down to what truly matters, strength is nurtured by collective. in grief, I've come to understand that strength is rooted in our collective vulnerability. that through our community recognition of loss, we are better equipped to hold up and fight for all we have to gain. thank you @arestingplace.sea for cultivating this space, physically and emotionally, for our community and our loved ones, here with us and with our ancestors 💜

a resting place (ARP) has been instrumental in my journey navigating grief, in all the forms it tends to show itself in so i can continue to show up for myself and for others. i am incredibly grateful for the space that derek (kalu) has created so others can feel supported as they navigate their unique grief journey, too. to all: let’s continue to support this beautiful space so others who may be curious can lean on and lean in! ✨

I have grown in my grief by being more open, more vulnerable, more openly emotional, and that has returned so much back to me in my interactions with readers and people. Thank you to ARP for this beautiful space—let’s support, everyone!!!
