The ability to read with understanding, make sense of numbers, and apply foundational skills is more than an educational milestone. It shapes how children engage with new knowledge, navigate learning opportunities, and progress through education.

Yet, for millions of children, these foundational skills remain out of reach. And when learning gaps persist, the consequences extend far beyond a single classroom or school year.

Our FastTrack programme at AREAi takes on this challenge by rethinking how children who have missed out on foundational learning can access and develop the skills they need to learn.

The question is not simply how to bring more children into learning spaces, but how to ensure that learning itself becomes possible, meaningful, and sustained.
