Julz transformed her Naarm share-house garage into p0litrix, a radical lending library stocking over 200 queer, intersectional and anti-capitalist texts. Co-designed with a close friend who passed in 2025, it operates on the belief that access to political language is itself resistance, offering a free, barrier-free alternative to institutional learning.

☆ scheming borrowing writing dreaming ☆

welcome to the p0litrix vault; a library on Wurundjeri Country.

“there are things which must cause you to lose your mind, or you have none to lose” – Czeslaw Milosz – The Captive Mind

“Any effective response to the anti-gender movement will entail a critique of the new forms of authoritarianism and the passions they exploit. It is right, of course, that we defend ‘gender’, point by point, against those who wage an ignorant war against it, but that alone will not be enough. We need a better understanding of the fears exploited by authoritarians: who is this ‘migrant’, so dangerous the must be deported; this ‘Palestinian’ whose death secures the social and political order; this notion of ‘gender’ that is so threatening to self, family and society? Any alternative to authoritarianism must address these fears with a compelling [blueprint] of a world in which there would be room for all who now fear their own vanishing and the vanishing of their communities.” – Judith Butler on Executive Order 114168

2 be anti-whatever-the-fuck-is-going-on-right-now and 4 something else, we need a blueprint. we already have it. we just need to read it. knowledge is agency and agency is for acting – now.

“there is no way out of a system that is put together with us as its component parts” – Czeslaw Milosz – The Captive Mind

The Poorer Nations | Vijay Prashad | Borrow (soon) from @p0litrix library

Since the ’70s, the countries of the Global South have struggled to build political movements. In The Poorer Nations, Prashad analyzes the failures of neoliberalism, as well as the rise of the BRICS countries, the World Social Forum, issue-based movements like Via Campesina, the Latin American revolutionary revival—in short, efforts to create alternatives to the neoliberal project advanced militarily by the US and its allies and economically by the IMF, the World Bank, the WTO, and other instruments of the powerful. by @p0litrix

NEW at p0litrix:

Revolting Prostitutes: The Fight for Sex Workers’ Rights by Juno Mac and Molly Smith | Speaking from a growing global sex worker rights movement, and situating their argument firmly within wider questions of migration, work, feminism, and resistance to white supremacy, the authors make it clear that anyone committed to working towards justice and freedom should be in support of the sex worker rights movement.

Playing the Whore: The Work of Sex Work by Melissa Gira Grant | Based on ten years of writing and reporting on the sex trade, and grounded in her experience as an organizer, advocate, and former sex worker, Playing the Whore dismantles pervasive myths about sex work, criticizes both conditions within the sex industry and its criminalization, and argues that separating sex work from the “legitimate” economy only harms those who perform sexual labor.

In Playing the Whore, sex workers’ demands, too long relegated to the margins, take center stage: sex work is work, and sex workers’ rights are human rights.

Another Day in the Colony | Chelsea Watego

In this collection of deeply insightful and powerful essays, Chelsea Watego examines the ongoing and daily racism faced by First Nations peoples in so-called Australia. Rather than offer yet another account of ‘the Aboriginal problem’, she theorises a strategy for living in a society that has only ever imagined Indigenous peoples as destined to die out.

Braiding Sweetgrass | Robin Wall Kimmerer

As a botanist, Robin Wall Kimmerer has been trained to ask questions of nature with the tools of science. As a member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, she embraces the notion that plants and animals are our oldest teachers. In Braiding Sweetgrass, Kimmerer brings these two ways of knowledge together.

White Skin, Black Fuel | Zetkin Collective | borrow from p0litrix

On One Nation / Pauline Hanson…

Rising temperatures and the rise of the far right. What disasters happen when they meet?
In recent years, the far right has done everything in its power to accelerate the heating: an American president who believes it is a hoax has removed limits on fossil fuel production. The Brazilian president has opened the Amazon and watched it burn. In Europe, parties denying the crisis and insisting on maximum combustion have stormed into office, from Sweden to Spain. On the brink of breakdown, the forces most aggressively promoting business-as-usual have surged – always in defense of white privilege, against supposed threats from non-white others. Where have they come from?

The first study of the far right in the climate crisis, White Skin, Black Fuel: On the Danger of Fossil Fascism presents an eye-opening sweep of a novel political constellation, and reveals its deep historical roots. Fossil-fueled technologies were born steeped in racism. None loved them more passionately than the classical fascists. As such forces rise to the surface, some profess to have the solution – closing borders to save the climate. Epic and riveting, White Skin, Black Fuel traces a future of political fronts that can only heat up.
