Our model of baseball performance is rooted in data and built to move athletes to the next level. For us, on-field performance starts in the weight room.

Before an athlete ever touches a barbell, we identify their individual strengths and weaknesses and use that information to build a customized development plan. No two athletes move the same, produce force the same, or have the same needs… so why train them like they do?

Great note here from the goat @adamcecere 190+ career hits at Wake and Penn State. Finished with over a 1k OPS. Some of you don’t understand how ridiculous that is.

Between these 3 homers last night from @pasquantino the average expected batting average was .112 Many of you are probably guessing on how these balls left the yard, or even questioning why we use expected batting average.

A. These balls got out due to ELITE ball flight and spin. Hitting at its core comes down to increasing margin of error. Whether that is through bat speed, ball flight, or swing decisions, our goal is to increase our margin of error. Vinny P didn’t record a single stat cast barrel last night… but what did he do? Hit balls within LASR (launch angle sweet spot range) to the pull side!!!!!

B. Expected batting average tells the story for whether a hitter is hitting above or below his means. By the data, Vinny P didn’t earn those 3 homers, however his elite ball flight made up for it. That’s what good hitters do!!!!

Hitting development in baseball is the furthest thing from a secret. Master the big 3: bat speed, bat to ball, and swing decisions. Junior Caminero jumped his OPS by 120 points📈. The numbers to back it up come in his absurd hard hit rate, and increased focus on lifting the ball to the pull side. Don’t overcomplicate it. Hit the ball hard in the air.

Athlete Simon Tesfaye (Georgetown) working through a swing change. Biggest focuses on cleaning up torso rotation, specifically tied to plane adjustments and flattening his path. Currently sitting 15-22 degrees Attack Angle on average, working on getting that down to 5-15. As bat speed increases, we toy with increasing AA and vice versa.

Having a specific 2-strike approach is essential at the division 1 level. Here’s one of our remote athletes, Jeff Sabater, putting on a master class this past weekend for ECU. Active takes, prioritizing low ball flight, (BABIP is the highest at 12 degrees LA). Pays off for him with a nice little double.

Take two cars. They both have top speeds at 150 mph. Car 1 gets to 150 mph in 7 seconds, and Car 2 takes 14 seconds to get there. Technically they are just as fast (at top speed), but car 1 got there twice as fast as car 2. That, is what rotational acceleration is in the swing. The higher the rot accel the faster the bat is getting up to top speed.This hitter, check swings on an inside pitch and still hits it out. Every comment we’ve seen is along the lines of “how does that ball get out”. Your answer is rotational acceleration.

With the data at the forefront of everything these days when it comes to baseball, no one is talking enough about why Attack Angle is so important. Many people confuse Attack Angle and Launch Angle. Attack Angle is the vertical angle at which the bat’s barrel is traveling at the moment of contact whereas Launch Angle is measures the vertical angle at which the ball leaves the bat. Attack Angle gives us a better idea of your swing path / plane and how your barrel is working before you make content. Short-Box is one of the best ways to challenge yourself as a hitter. The environment is difficult, but not too difficult to the point where success is lower than in-game. The hardest part is finding someone to throw it!!!
