We shared a new acronym today in our pre-ride safety talk we totally didn’t steal from the @hopsyclists_kelowna

B - Be consistent
I - Indicate hazards
K - Keep together
E - Embrace the law

And no, BIKE does not equal “Because I know everything” 😵‍💫

Meet Trevor Epp, one of our new ride leaders 👋

After moving to Penticton in 2023, Coquitlam born and raised Trevor Epp quickly discovered why we all love riding here.

One Trek Domane later 🚴‍♂️ he signed up for the 2025 Okanagan Granfondo. And when we say Gran, we mean Gran. Because why do a Cortofondo for your first-ever major cycling event when you can do a Gran? 💪

When he’s not getting kms on his bike, he’s getting his steps in chasing his two-year-old around. We’re happy to have you, Trevor. Welcome to the team! 🙌

Say hello 👋 to Katie, one of our new ride leaders! 🚴‍♀️

Born and raised in Penticton, Katie discovered road riding in 2017 when she was living in Vancouver and needed a way to get to work faster.

She soon found herself completing Granfondos, century rides and even the Vancouver hat trick, the Triple Crown 👑

Last year, she completed two triathlon sprints.

In summer 2025, she moved back to her hometown with her partner Carolyn and their dog, Carson Beans 🐕

On rides, you may find her doing her best David Attenborough, pointing out wildlife (especially birds 🦅🦆🐦‍⬛) and enjoying the beauty of the South Okanagan.

“I always have a smile on my face because even when I’m climbing what feels like a never ending hill, I know there will ALWAYS be a gorgeous view at the end.”

Little known fact: Used to be quite a proficient Spanish speaker. She enjoys travelling to Spanish speaking countries 🇲🇽 🇪🇸 to brush up on her language skills

March 29 - PACA Trail Captain Day – Three Blind Mice
Help us get the Three Blind Mice network ready to ride.

Trail Captain Day is a focused volunteer day where volunteers are assigned a trail to clear debris, check conditions, and report issues. This isn’t a heavy dig day—it’s about light maintenance + eyes on trails to help PACA prioritize work for the season.

What You’ll Do

Clear deadfall and debris

Check for erosion and safety concerns

Identify trail damage and maintenance needs

Learn how to submit a simple trail report on Trail Forks

This gives PACA a clear snapshot of trail conditions across the network and helps direct crews to where work is needed most.

Details

Location: Poplar Grove Lot
Time: March 29th, 10am - 1pm
Duration: ~4 hours

Bring: Gloves, water, snacks, phone, and any small tools you have (loppers/saw/shovel/rake). by @paca_paceliners
