Outstanding club turnout for the @surreycycleracingleague handicap championship yesterday. Sadly couldn't quite convert numbers into a win with @simonmskinner the last man to be swept up with 100m to go. Great fun racing, perfectly judged handicaps by @glyndurrant and a big thanks to @brighton_mitre for putting it on 👏 by @paceline.rt

Is #throwbackthursday still a thing?

Whilst digging through some old photos and videos for a project upcoming…

I came across these of a race with good pal @pablo_burt at Hillingdon back in 2019.

It was the funnest circuit race I’ve done.

Pablo and I had ridden out together, decided upon a plan we thought would be great to try and was one of those days where it came together perfectly.

Pablo attacked from the gun with @tiagoxavierfougo, I bridged over soon after and we rode three up for the whole race, holding off the bunch.

We then took it in turns to attack our break companion until I was the lucky one that managed to get away for a few solo glory laps 😅

I set an all time 1hr power PB that day.

(A trend that seems to be quite common for people following Pablo 🐍)

Both our hamstrings cramped up so hard after the race we could hardly ride home 😂

(Don’t forget your warm downs…).

Learnt a huge amount that year, made some great memories and great friends.

❤️ cycling.
