18 months ago, Lucy and Maddie believed in my passionate love for Ecuador and the stories from women that reflected the true essence of this country; biodiverse, beautiful, fragile and yet with this incredible strength and life force.
‘Ceibo’ holds space for big questions and even bigger answers from young women unafraid to be who they are.
I feel emotional imagining a young pacha watching this film.

We explore many unique and vulnerable stories, I want to thank these 4 women for opening their heart, spending this time with us and gifting wisdoms to wider communities. Forever changed. Gracias, Sulpay 🤍 @muyukindi @mimi_barona @eli.virkina @caroisapez

The crew hold a very special place in my heart... Lucy and Maddie…. I can’t begin to unravel the ways you’ve both inspired and empowered a dream into a 75 minute feature documentary about my birth country.
We’ve been through wild journeys to get to this point but witnessing the dedication from Lucy and Maddie has added this new level of depth to this film. I am so proud. Thank you for listening and growing with me.
Every single element is done with so much consideration and attention- celebrating Ecuadorian communities, artists, culture and an incredible group of organisations making change in Ecuador. 🇪🇨
The deepest appreciation to our partners who believed in this story and supported this film. The impact is already being felt throughout Ecuador and I cannot wait to begin touring the full film!

We start in Australia with a very special premier in Sydney alongside our lovely friends at @meccampower on the 8th of April and then continuing to Europe.

“I watched its velvet nose slowly edge beneath my forehead to match my bow. I couldn’t believe it. We nuzzled head to head, with her very pungent musky smell and soft exhales, low and
unthreatening eyes guarded with the most beautiful eyelashes. I slowly reached my hand to
begin a little scratch, which she lent into.
I had been quite stressed out in logistics, in the lack of waves, the planning for future travels and
spinning projects. She brought me into her simple world, showed me how to breathe. To be
gentle, to be patient. I whispered a thank you, shokran or tanmirt in Amazigh.
I looked up to Ayoub with misty eyes, he just couldn’t believe it either.
I called our friends over to share this moment, everyone sharing a scratch and a smile with this
camel.”
