Today marks 7 years since I married my wife and best buddy Kaitlin. Lucky number 7 isn't typically a milestone anniversary, but I think every year should be celebrated even harder than the last one, especially considering that we've officially been a thing for a whopping 15 years! Some of you have been there since the beginning, and some of you don't even know a world where Paco and Kate weren't a package deal! In all that time, I've tended to keep the public sap to a minimum, but this year I just feel like saying a little something extra.

We've been together through high school, college (long distance at that), early adulthood, marriage, homeownership, pet ownership, pig ownership, bands, world travel, art projects, pandemics/"unprecedented times", and anything in between. We've share boatloads of great meals, amazing friends and family, and so many memories that it probably made my forehead bigger. We have our ups and downs like anyone, but at the end of the day we are always there for each other and living the life we want to live together. We march to the beat of our own drum, and when all's said and done, I can't imagine anything different. Just two weirdos being mutually in weird with each other.

Thank you for all your love, thank you for supporting a husband who chose a career in the arts and has all kinds of dumb hobbies, thank you for pushing me to go new places and try new things, and thank you for cultivating such a fun, comfortable, and loving community with me.

To many more years, @kategsar ! May we have so many that I forget how many there are, which is already starting to happen! And, to close out with the only pet name we use that ever stuck...

... I love you, buddy! by @pacohigdon

This is because you all kept thinking of me. After I’d pretty much giving up on looking and made my peace, you all kept sending me listings of guitars that looked like the one I lost. You beat it so hard into my algorithm that any targeted ad I saw featured a sunburst Stratocaster, and every day I’d get what felt like 100 emails from music and resale sites with new “similar listings”.
Well… this time one of those e-mails actually had a picture of my guitar in it. A pawn shop in Detroit has apparently had it for months. I went to go confirm today, and the second the dude at the shop opened the case, I recognized it right away. The specific paint chipping, the Nylon Jazz III XL still in the case it was stolen in, the little bit of black hair from my old fuzzy strap still kinda stuck in parts- it was her. Don’t ask me about filing reports or what it cost or trying to find who did it. Point is, I got her back and she’s home.
It’s kinda validating to know I didn’t just lose it somewhere, but I am disappointed that someone would go to such lengths. I can only hope they were so desperate that they needed to do this to get by. That’s what I’m going to keep telling myself. But please take this as a warning- hide AirTags in your cases, take pictures of your guitars and serial numbers, and hit that lock button one extra time when you leave your car. And, for your old Paco, celebrate this little win with me at the end of a year that really needed one. You all as a community have been so considerate in helping me look, putting feelers out, asking me for updates, sharing posts, and just recognizing the sentimental value this guitar has and understanding how it was more to me than just a missing item. I’m going to return to bawling my eyes out, feel free to share if you want to get the news out. by @pacohigdon

We're throwing the second annual Punk'n Halloween on Nov 2nd and it's gonna be another big ol' party at @thelexbar. We got bands doing whole Green Day albums closing out the night, a KISS with Danzig cover band, as well as a Royal Blood debut album tribute. Wake me up when October ends because we're excited to be having a blast at this holiday party!! Don't be chump, wear a costume! taken in The Lexington Bar Detroit by @pacohigdon

Hey there Lexington Open Mic regulars! We have a favor to ask. If anyone mistakenly walked out with this guitar in this case, please contact us and bring it back as soon as possible. We know a lot of instruments walk in and out the door on Open Mic Night, and we’re hoping someone took this one accidentally. We know those black guitar cases can all look alike. This is a very important guitar to a very important member of our Lex family and we would love to get it back to him. Send us a DM here or stop in at the bar if you have any info. Please feel free to share this far and wide too. Thanks friends! by @pacohigdon

It's been killing me to keep this news to myself, but I'm happy to announce the release of the first single from my new project today! Long time fans will recognize this as a bit of a departure from my usual sound/genre, as well as the first time I've handed lead vocal duties to someone else. I am excited to take things in a new direction with @auroraboarealis behind the mic, and I have to give @blaizecollard a special shout-out for his one-take insane metal drumming.

Please enjoy a free download of "Dimmu Boargir"! Link in bio. by @pacohigdon

Album #3 is officially underway! @blaizecollard is reprising his role from the first album as the drum wizard, and we cannot wait to bring these new songs to life at @tuxedoavestudios after seven years. Big thanks to @munkiewrench for taking the photos and @karpy11 for engineering! #rock #music #drums #album3 #theanticrastinator #pacohigdon #tuxedoavenue taken in Tuxedo Avenue Recording Studios by @pacohigdon
