Another year older and so much to show for it. It’s easy to get caught up in the minutia of it all. Being so busy one second that you just want time to catch your breath, and then before you know it you’re lazing about wondering why you’re not doing more with your time. What I’ve found in my 37 years on this planet is that no matter what I’m doing I’ll always want to push myself a bit further. My life has had so many moments of profound meaning and serene beauty that make time stand still and linger a little longer. Those deep breathes of fresh air that wash over you and make you feel like your whole life has been leading to that moment and you belong to this place and time and always will. And just as quickly as it comes it slips away, receding into the annals of memory.

August is my favorite month of the year, and yes I may have some bias as a Leo, but I also love the solemn sadness of it. Summer is setting, the days start to feel noticeably shorter, the sun takes on a golden glow as it sets. The first color in the leaves starts to peak through, as autumn creeps into the air.

There is more summer ahead and I have much to look forward to still, but I wanted to take a moment and reflect on the last year and even more specifically the last month or so when these pictures were taken and express gratitude for making it another rotation around the sun. Happy Leo season and may 37 be another wonderful revolution through the cosmos.

Told Evan we were going to have a super fun weekend… and we definitely did! Karaoke with the crew in Friday, boat day with his parents on Saturday (thanks Captain Jim and Laurie!), and a Skubal Sunday with Icees. Only thing better would’ve been a tigers win or if we won the 50/50 💕⚾️🐯⚓️🍹🎤

Spring Photo Dump

I like to post photos before they get buried too far. It’s nice looking back on recent memories and reliving the moments while they are still fresh. The passage of time is so peculiar. It seems to fly by and creep along at the same time. A dichotomy of perception only noticeable when consciously sought out. The winter dread feels like a distant memory as the light of spring brings new life into the world. The fresh air and warm days give hope for the coming of summer and all the fun experiences still ahead. I navigate the day to day chaos that is life, but it’s a good day to stop and smell the flowers. I hope everyone had a happy Movement weekend. I know I did.

Let’s show up for @pedromeadowz. I was lucky enough to hear this fun song about a week ago at an intimate gathering of musicians. He has played shows in Detroit, Hamtramck, Ferndale and Royal Oak. But what I appreciate beyond the music is how much Pedro is big supporter of other local musicians and fostering this rich Detroit music community. He’s run open mic nights, done shows, even runs a spin your own vinyl night. Please go check out his page and if you like his music consider a follow. Annndddd if you want to see him live, you’re in luck as he’s playing tonight with his band @water.anxiety in Corktown for @corktownmusicfestival Please check his page directly for all the up to date times and details. 🤍🫶🏼🩵

My heart is relieved by the coming of spring. Seeing the sunlight again has such a profound effect on my mental health. This winter was dreadful, but good times were still had.

The changing of the seasons is always a strange time for me. I find myself reflecting on myself and life; the passage of time and the way I’ve chose to spend it. I often can get a bit overwhelmed and neurotic. Overthinking encounters and yet mindlessly aloof at the same time. This was a tough winter, but I still managed to have some really nice memories. Here’s hoping for a brighter spring.
