’n Bietjie Bak met Ouma se Geskiedenis.

’n Bietjie Bak met Ouma se Geskiedenis is a locally focused history activation that gives children the opportunity to travel back to where it all began. As part of the Journey To Self, we are teaching the children at Speel & Leer about our local heritage through the stories, traditions and flavours passed down from generation to generation.

Through this activity, the children learn to prepare old traditional recipes, while discovering the importance of food in preserving family history and culture.

It is more than just baking, it is about remembering where we come from, learning from our elders, and keeping our stories alive for the next generation.

At Speel & Leer, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow and reach their full potential.

Because education is more than just completing homework, it’s building confidence, opening doors and creating brighter futures.

Learning the Art of Spice!

Our PACT Hospitality Academy students had the wonderful opportunity to receive spice training from Ridwaan, gaining valuable knowledge about different spices, flavours and how they can be used to elevate a dish.

Hands-on learning like this helps our students build practical skills, confidence and a strong foundation for their future in the hospitality industry.
