One year ago I was lost on my paddling journey but felt that I had untapped potential. I came from sprint canoe with no clue how to get in the ocean — just looking for someone patient enough to teach me.

Since then, with @applesteeze in my corner: first ocean session, first bumps, first ocean race, first tech race, first surf comp. First overall women’s win at Adler Paddler. 8.5 miles downwind at Malibu. Head-high waves I never thought I’d drop into.

I started this chapter in my late 30s wanting to know what my body could really do before my window closes. Turns out — a lot more than I thought.

Thanks for believing in me and supporting and inspiring my big dreams.

Wrote you a song. Happy coachiversary. Here’s to year two. 🌊

Wow what a heat. @super_soryn_preston and @alex.o_sup battled it out for a straight-to-final spot. Meanwhile I tried to pass @sup.im.haley.s for third but she is a FIGHTER! Haley's turns were perfect and watch how she defends her position in the final sprint. I loved this race! by @paddle_do_it

The ups and downs are so real! The more I go on this journey the more I know in my heart of hearts: it's not about winning. It's about who I am becoming on the way there. Do I still love the voice in my head? Can I still feel gratitude while pushing my body to the limit? Can I embrace the discomfort that brings me closer to my goals? I've been begging @applesteeze to take me prone paddling and the perfect conditions finally appeared! At first we were just going to go from North Beach to T Street but I was feeling great so I said let's hit Seal Rock! As soon as we got there I felt the reverb off the rock and smelled the seals... and I spent the rest of my time brutally seasick 😂😭 I still had a fabulous time though.
