One year sober !
Can’t believe it. A year ago I was a shell of a man. Deep in depression and in a bad spiral of addiction.
I reached out for help and got support. It was certainly a scary thing to do, to be vulnerable and admit you’ve fucked it and found yourself in a hole.
But I’m so grateful I did, Because I got the help I needed. As a result I have had the best year of my adult life without a doubt.
If you’re struggling tell someone. There really are lots of options, even when it feels like there isn’t, trust me I know that feeling.
Thanks to my friends and family for being there for me.

So, the proverbial cat is outta the proverbial bag, I’ve started a Japanese tea business, importing the best tea to Australia.
It’s called Qatsi @qatsitea (pronounced kaht-see).
In the past year, whilst not drinking alcohol, I discovered the beautiful and fascinating world of Sencha, Matcha, Gyokouro, Houjicha and so much more.
After devouring information through the internet and books about how tea is cultivated and processed, I wanted to try as many styles of Japanese tea as possible, however I found that the Australian market was lacking in quality and also had a distinct absence of information when it came to who made the tea.
I wanted to know who the farmer was, what the cultivar was, where were the tea farms located ?
So I flew to Japan, met with some of the best tea farmers in the country, tasted their teas, asked them a million questions, toured their factories and walked their tea fields.
I selected my favourite teas from 12 different farmers to bring back to Australia, ranging from sencha to matcha to wakoucha and everything in between. Much like wine, there’s an endless world to discover.

HI MOMI

Today myself and my dear friend and musical collaborator Ash Moses have released our debut album under the name MOMI.

Ash and I met in 2006 in the heady days of club 77, Bandits and general Sydney debauchery, quickly bonding over Modular Recordings, ecstasy, Andrew Weatherall remixes and more partying.
Now we are admittedly older and minus actively enjoying a couple of those things we wanted to create an album as a love letter to all the music we love.

This album is an ode to singing a Cut Copy song at 5am at the top of your lungs, shedding a tear to the beauty of New Order and embracing the power of synthesisers, 808 beats and nostalgic melody coming together in perfect harmony.
It’s a few years old in our reality, but sounds as timeless as ever in our eyes and ears.

Maggie passed away today in my arms. A beautiful kind hearted Dalmatian. My Blue Mountains companion on many hikes. Our ritual of going to Paradise Pool, where I had to carry her down two parts and then we both swam together, followed by a beer at The Alex in Leura will be fond memories. Absolutely sucks losing a pet. They’re such great companions and stick with you through think and thin. Nothing is as unconditional as a dogs love. Gonna miss you Maggie ❤️ by @paddyharrowsmith

F1 SPA Grand Prix this weekend. Always a special one. I got into formula 1 in my early 20s due to my brother and firstly my Dad loving it. This photo was taken at the Melbourne Grand Prix in 2012 during qualifying when it was absolutely pissing down. I went a few times with my dad and brother to Albert Park and they are memories I’ll always cherish. Me n Matt did a pilgrimage to Belgium to watch Spa GP in honour of Dad after he passed in 2013. Sat on Eau Rouge and raised a (plastic) glass to Pete as the cars raced over the hill. Will always love F1 as Dad did, and will always remember him in the morning watching the re run of the race in his Ugg boots. Go Piastri . by @paddyharrowsmith
