Rebbekah & Johann 22.08.26 Really enjoyed this one. Far too many good photos to choose from, so here’s a few of my favourites from their day. Hair and makeup: @_luxbylala Venue: @villagehotels by @paddyhopee
A few previews from a styled shoot I took part in last week. This opportunity only came about because a space opened up for an additional photographer. I’m really glad it did. And even more glad that I said yes. One thing I’ve learnt over the last couple of years is that you can watch all the YouTube videos you want, read all the articles and spend hours trying to learn something. But for me, the biggest improvements have always come from actually doing it. Getting out of my comfort zone. Meeting new people. Trying things I haven’t done before. And occasionally chucking myself in at the deep end. I always seem to learn the most in those situations. It was great to meet everyone involved and these are just a few previews while I work through a fairly long editing list. I’ll tag all the suppliers below because everyone involved was brilliant. Rohan & Yasmine 02.05.26 Fletton House, Oundle Sometimes it’s easy to just post the finished photos and forget everything that goes into getting here. The early mornings before work. Editing in the evenings once everything else is done. Trying to build something around family life and the day job. Then there are days like this. Getting to capture moments that genuinely matter, delivering galleries I’m really proud of, and being reminded why I’m putting the time into building this. Really loved documenting this one. Grateful to Yasmine & Rohan for trusting me to capture such a big day. by @paddyhopee
Since starting photography in 2024, I’ve photographed quite a few different weddings, all with their own challenges. Different venues, different lighting, different people and different things happening throughout the day. You get better at knowing where to be, what to look for and when to get involved. A lot of it comes down to experience. Making decisions quickly, adapting when things don’t go to plan and getting the photos without making everyone feel like they’re constantly being photographed. It’s something I’ve really enjoyed getting better at. And hopefully, it shows in the final photos. by @paddyhopee
Before I started photographing weddings, I’d have thought choosing a photographer was fairly straightforward. Find someone whose photos you like, check the price and book them. After photographing weddings this year, I can see how much more there is to consider. Obviously, the photos are a huge part of it. But there are different styles to think about, too. Documentary photography is about capturing things as they happen, with minimal interruption. Traditional photography tends to involve more direction, posed portraits and organised group photos. Editorial photography is more styled and considered, with an emphasis on composition, fashion and creating a particular look. Fine art photography often has a softer, more artistic approach, with a focus on light, colour and composition. Photographers don’t always fit neatly into one category, and plenty of us combine different approaches. For me, it’s about capturing things naturally while giving a bit of direction when needed. But I also think it’s worth considering whether you’ll feel comfortable around your photographer. They’re going to be there for some pretty personal moments, from getting ready to spending time with your guests. You don’t need to be best mates, but you should feel at ease around them. If you’ve already got married, what was the biggest thing that helped you choose your photographer? by @paddyhopee
A few favourites from Rohan and Yasmine’s wedding at Fletton House in Oundle. The dress by @catherine__deane was a real standout, and the grounds at Fletton House gave us some lovely spots for photos. A few from the day. by @paddyhopee
Megan & Joe. Married at Normanton Church. 30.07.26 Grateful they chose me to capture their day. Photography: @paddyhopee Venue: @normantonchurch, @rutlandwater Dress: @bridesofyork Hair: @ld_hairdesign by @paddyhopee
Jazz & James • 07.09.25 It’s been about a year and a half since I started my photography business, and one of the biggest challenges has been building a wedding portfolio. This styled shoot with Jazz and James has been a huge help. I wanted to show a little of how I capture a wedding day. Big thanks to everyone who helped make it happen. The location was @normantonchurch, flowers and pocket boutonnière from @pollen_floristry, dress from @wed2b, and suit from @nextofficial. 📸 @paddyhopee Now booking for 2026 weddings. Would love to hear about your plans. by @paddyhopee
I’d never been inside Peterborough Cathedral before, so I wasn’t quite prepared for how impressive it was. I recently had the chance to photograph a styled shoot here, working alongside a couple and a great team of suppliers. It’s easy to look at the finished photos and not think too much about what goes into them, but there’s a lot of work from everyone involved to make a shoot like this happen. From the styling and details to the couple bringing everything together, it was a real team effort. Really enjoyed photographing somewhere different and working with everyone involved. Some people worry about having their photos taken on their wedding day. Luckily, these two were already pretty relaxed, which always makes things easier. We headed over to the Chelsea Gardens at Roundhay Park and spent a bit of time finding some good spots to work with. I was mixing things up as we went, finding nice backgrounds, looking for good light and giving a bit of direction where needed. Nothing too complicated. Just making the most of the location without turning it into a big photoshoot. I really like how these turned out, especially the way the two of them look together. If you’re getting married and you’re not sure how you’ll feel in front of the camera, you don’t need to have it all figured out beforehand. A bit of direction goes a long way. If you’re still looking for a photographer, feel free to drop me a message. by @paddyhopee
Posted before. Just like the audio :) Hit the link in my bio if you’re looking for wedding photog. Peterborough Cathedral was a pretty good place to spend an evening with a camera. I recently had the chance to photograph a styled shoot here, and it was great to work somewhere with so much character. The architecture, the light and all the little details gave us plenty to work with. It was also great to work with so many amazing suppliers. I’ll tag them all below.
