Ending destitution + increasing access to justice for people seeking asylum in Leeds

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

🌳🐑PAFRAS IN THE DALES🐑🌳

This Summer we teamed up with @yorkshiredalestrust to take our Young Migrants Matter group and World Café group on trips to the dales. We had a lush time visiting the legendary Farmer Tom in Langcliffe and a plant walk with @plantlistening in Grassington. We also had a lovely crafting trip to @ntfountainsabbey !

The trips mean so much to our clients, providing meaningful space away from the stresses of everyday life and the asylum process. by @pafras_leeds

🫛ALLOTMENT DONATIONS 🫛

Donations can be dropped off Monday or Tuesdays in time to be distributed to our clients on a Wednesday.

Being able to distribute excess food from Leeds' glorious allotments made a massive difference last year. If you own an allotment or grow your own veg/fruit please consider donating any excess to PAFRAS.

We currently distribute around 80 food parcels every single week to people seeking asylum in Leeds. As food prices have soared, we have seen donations reduce and demand increase so any support with allotment excess will be hugely appreciated.

All eyes were on London on 16 May 2026, as another large far-right march went ahead. Many counter-protesters converged in London to assert their commitment to justice, peace, and humanity.

What happens after these marches? What happens to people harmed by hatred?

We must spread solidarity beyond marches. We need to steadily repair the community that has been under so much stress.

In this blog, we highlight some local groups outside London - Kent, Tees Valley, Birmingham and Leeds - who have been doing much needed solidarity work and who need your solidarity. Support, donate & join them!

🚨 IMPORTANT - PLEASE SHARE 🚨

Hello PAFRAS supporters! As some of you will know, we're currently very low on food in our food room. Rises in food prices has led to the perfect storm - while the need for food being as high as ever.

Next time you do a food shop, please consider adding a couple of tins to your basket for folks seeking asylum in Leeds. We ALWAYS need tinned chickpeas, tinned tomatoes, tinned fish, tinned fruit, pasta and rice.

Thanks for your support as always folks! ♥️ by @pafras_leeds

IT'S HERE!!!

AAAH Anthology debuted at @wharfchamberscc on the 25th Feb 2026 at 'Poets for PAFRAS' live event organised by @nobody_important_poetry

Alongside ticket, anthology and raffle sales we raised over £700 (and still counting!) for @pafras_leeds as a massive stand against hate in all its forms.

What did editing and putting together this book teach me?

It's so much more than an anthology against hate.

It's an anthology of love, resistance and beauty.

Thank you one last time to my talented, bold and brilliant contributors:

ALL proceeds go to protecting the saftey and dignity of refugees & aslyumn seekers in the UK. Final amount will be announced soon!

This was my editorial debut & I am indebted to all of you for ensuring its success. Especially @forgepressuk (Elle & Dilon), & @rowan_rises (my best friend, proof reader & spreadsheet queen)

This is a limited series of 3 prints featuring a fieldfare, waxwing and a gold crest.
For the next month the profits from these prints will be shared with Positive Action for Refugees and Asylum Seekers @pafras_leeds
They first asked me to make them some prints for their waiting room in 2020, offering to pay me (which is really appreciated!) but I said I’d sell the prints of the artwork I made and share the profits as a donation to their charity.
The prints I did are on the last slide.
More of the same 6 years later! I’ll be sharing the profits from this set with PAFRAS again.
So please share and let’s raise some money for a good cause (: by @pafras_leeds

🎉HAPPY RETIREMENT SHARON🎉

This week we say farewell to our mental health support worker Sharon who has been with us for the last six and a half years. Sharon has had such a huge impact on the people we work with and embodies everything great about PAFRAS. Sharon's work has been underpinned by an unwavering commitment to solidarity, justice, compassion and kindness and we are really going to miss her. Not only does she bring so much to the lives of our clients, she's been so influential and supportive to staff members through thick and thin and we really love and value her.

We're so happy that she's now got plenty of time to enjoy her caravan, wild swimming and walking her beautiful dog. To say a happy and restful retirement is deserved is an understatement. Big love Shazza, you're the best! 💕💕 by @pafras_leeds
