While she makes character come to life in her films, I simple wanted to bring her inner child out and see who @tribenyrai is behind the scenes. I have been a fan of her work and her efforts to share stories of the hills to the world, when I met her in the premier of her film @shapeofmomo I asked her if we could do a fun shoot together and finally last week we had that opportunity and my job was to make her break the regular pose and do something extra, we did try few but again ended up with the regulars :)
We made a tiny set in my friends apartment and did this fun shoot, mostly it was me clicking the shutter and Di being herself.

Overlooking the tranquil hills of Rumtek Monastery and Ranka Valley yet situated within Gangtok’s urban fabric, the handcrafted boutique hotel Hidden Land (@amritara_hidden_land) takes its name from Sikkim’s ancient identity as Beyul Demazong in the Bhutia language, which literally translates as ‘the hidden land!

Conceived by Lakshmi Jorden (@nimla9 ) and brought to life by the renowned Himalayan visionary and architect Topchen Takarpa with close assistance from her brother Rinzing Gyamtso (@rinzinggyamtso), this retreat, rooted in local building traditions, rises organically across six hillside levels, embracing both urban energy and mountain stillness.
Built between 2016 and 2019 and spanning 15,000 square feet across 23 rooms, Hidden Land is a living expression of Sikkim’s spiritual lineage, art and traditions. “At every step... I wanted guests to feel as if they were walking into a culture, not just a building,” Lakshmi says. “Hidden Land in Sikkim is an invitation to experience our Himalayan soul: its art, rituals, and rhythms.” Unlike conventional hotels, design intluences here are subtle yet profound: contemporary structure enriched by vernacular timber craft, Sikkimese Himalayan architectural references, and iconography that is experiential rather than decorative.
