Soñadores is now on view at TMC3 Collaborative Building presented in collaboration with @almaahhtx and @tmchelixpark

For the next several weeks, these stories get to take up space bringing together such talented, brilliant Houston-area Latinx artists exploring heritage.

As Hispanic Heritage Month continues, I’m especially grateful to see these perspectives celebrated in a space where arts and health can meet.

2026 Health Heroes Gala ✨️ my summer intern was selected to share her story during the Mission Moment, and what a moment it was! ❤️

From sharing her first experience visiting The Health Museum to reflecting on how she came to embody its mission throughout her internship, she truly became the star of the night!

We are all Soñadores 🦋 thank you to all the artists for being a part of this movement that affirms Latinx Heritage.

Who we are today has been thousands of years in the making. When I see gatherings like this, I see communities of practice that choose to keep Heritage alive. It emerges in new art, people, places, languages, and even the way we care for one another.

What an incredible night! 🌟

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at @tmchelixpark to celebrate the artists of "Soñadores" at the inaugural reception. We shared an evening filled with Latin American art, music, dance, and flavors that truly honored our roots and sense of belonging. ❤️ Our hearts are full.

It has been a pleasure joining the Healing Arts conversation during the United Nations General Assembly this week in New York. It’s comforting to see that like-minded people exist across the globe, shifting the conversation around how arts & cultural institutions can serve as centers of refuge, connection, and healing for humanity. Spaces like this are small ripples to larger waves of positive change in the world.

Healing Arts Week in New York celebrates the work happening in this space in all five Burroughs as a community of practice. Let’s keep this momentum up! by @paintedbyrose__

Soñadores nstall day: The Office edition. 🎨 📦

Today, Soñadores became real. Artists arriving, artwork unwrapping, and many stories finally beginning to share one space.

Soñadores was never meant to be one voice. It’s built through many stories, many hands, and a whole lot of trust.

So grateful for every artist, juror, partner, and person helping bring this exhibition to life.

Soñadores means Dreamers. Each of these artists carries their own dreams and ways of seeing the world. But dreaming also belongs to those who continue imagining what comes next.

Over the next few weeks, I hope you’ll get to know the people behind the exhibition and a little of what each carries with them.

Meet the 16 Soñadores, artistas, and creative souls, selected by @gabbsml @rosaanaorlando @paintedbyrose__

Each name represents a way of remembering, dreaming, and carrying culture forward.Every submission brought a different relationship to heritage, and together they reminded us how many ways there are to carry where we come from.

There is a place in Perú called Quelccaya, which means "where the soul writes". Perhaps this is where the soul paints, "donde pinta el alma."

I’m so grateful to each artist who trusted us with their work and their story, and I can’t wait for Houston to experience what they’ve created.

THANK YOU!! to the 33 artists submitting over 99 artworks for one vision.

The idea for Soñadores (Dreamers) began after returning from a trip to Peru - a journey that unexpectedly became one of healing and change. I found myself reconnecting with the small things I had grown up with but never fully understood. The sounds, flavors, colors, traditions, and quiet moments had always been part of me. It reminded me that our roots shape us long before we learn to name them.

As curator, my hope has been to create a shared space where these stories can be celebrated, honored, and experienced in community.

I'm incredibly grateful to the artists who entrusted us with their unique perspective on what it means to carry culture, and equally grateful to collaborate with Gabriela Magaña and Rosa Ana Orlando as co-jurors, and to partner with ALMAAHH and TMC Helix Park in bringing this vision to life. Together, we're continuing to build bridges between the arts and health, creating spaces where creativity, culture, and well-being can come together.
