POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

As this exhibition comes to a close I am reflecting on its imprint.

This exhibition and reception was an incredibly special experience, centered around the theme of Soñadores — Dreamers. ✨

An opportunity to reflect on what dreams mean to us, how they are rooted in our heritage and culture, and how art inspires us to continue dreaming, growing, and evolving.

It was a delight to join a panel of fellow artists representing different countries, cultures, and artistic expressions, each sharing not only their work but also the meaningful stories behind their creations.

For me, one of the greatest gifts was seeing my mother witness her own mother’s and aunt’s portraits being shared beyond the walls of our home and into a show, where both of their stories and legacy could be seen and celebrated by others. A beautiful reminder that art has the power to preserve our memories, honor those who came before us, and connect generations.

I often wish I had more time with both of them, but I’ve come to believe that when someone leaves such a profound imprint on our lives, their love, energy, and spirit never truly leave us. They continue to live through our stories, our creativity, and the dreams we carry forward.

My hope is that their legacy, and the stories shared through this exhibition, inspire others to look beyond life’s challenges, recognize the possibilities ahead, and never stop dreaming. ❤️

Grateful to have been part of such a beautiful celebration of art, heritage, resilience, and the power of our stories.

Thank you to all who supported and shared in this beautiful memory. #soñadores #dreamers

Yesterday’s sold-out Jazz & Journaling @thehealthmuseum was something special.

Led by the incredible Kevin Anderson (@iamkevindapree) of T.R.UT.H.Project ( @truthprojecthtx), we gathered for an afternoon of reflection, creativity, music, and connection. Together, we journaled, shared stories, sang, laughed, and made space for ourselves and one another.

The music from the incomparable @mariumecho and @jermainewilliamsbass carried us through the experience, and we were treated to a beautiful surprise performance from Jessica Williams of the Health Museum team. What a gift it was to hear her voice fill the room.

A special thank you to Rose (@paintedbyrose__), yet again for grounding us in the science behind healing, reflection, and the impact practices like journaling can have on our well-being.

To everyone who joined us, thank you for bringing your honesty, your presence, and your hearts. The room was filled with warmth, vulnerability, joy, and care.

We’re already looking forward to the next Jazz & Journaling on July 12, facilitated by @mfahouston meditation instructor and founder of Mindful Muscle (@official_mindfulmuscle)@_rashadsanders.

Seats are limited and registration is now open. Link in bio.

This is for you. 🎺📝

Today was the first day of our Jazz & Journaling series at the Health Museum (@thehealthmuseum ), and it was everything we hoped it would be.

Thank you to everyone who came out and showed up fully. You were vulnerable. You shared. You trusted the space and that means everything to us.

We explored the theme Who Am I Becoming through four prompts with so many rich questions living inside each one. Tashia Iman and Nicco brought the music live, and Rose Tylinski (@paintedbyrose__ ) the Health Museum’s Healing Arts Manager, brought her knowledge of neuroscience into the room in a way that deepened the whole experience

The next one is June 14th, with co-facilitator Kevin Anderson of @truthprojecthtx. We would love to see you there.

This series is something special. Come see for yourself.

Thank you to the Health Museum again for making this possible. 🎷 🫶🏿

Much the same way, those who are living with #skinconditions and #birthmarks were created with extraordinary colors, patterns, and textures on their skin making them one-of-a-kind works of art that were made to standout.
