Here’s a Saturday idea:

Stop by @paintersgreenhouse for something green to take home and learn about the Old Fort Beautification Committee @oldfortbc

Lunch and reflect on your garden projects at @foothillswatershed

Park in downtown to check out cool shops like @arrowheadgalleryandstudios , @thecommonpine , @bsideoldfort , @thedaviscountrystore , @theroxyantiquemall , the list goes on and on

Get a coffee to go at @seekercoffeenc or an ice cream from @thescreamnc (or both, I’m an enabler not a judge)

And then continue on to the @culturasunidasfestival festival in downtown Marion from 3 PM-8 PM (Sept. 12)!

Dang, what a fun Saturday you have ahead of you 😉

We are all just enabling each other at this point… but seriously, when you work at a greenhouse and have endless plant species surrounding you, how could you not get addicting to a microwaveable flower press (done in 2 min & preserves color better)?! Heck, Brooke broke down and bought a microwave for the first time in her life, and Nora started creating kaleidoscope masterpieces on the office wall… then again, maybe we are all just high off Mod Podge.

Some of our favs so far:

口 Goldenrod — Dana’s top pick

口 Dwarf Blue Plumbago — Stefanie is obsessed with the rich blue hue

口 Anemones — Brooke’s absolute go-to

口 Pansies, violas & camellias — Nora can’t get enough

口 Italian Oregano — Betsy’s main pick (those wee blooms are so dainty!)

口 Any of the Agastache or Salvia — Dana and Brooke love Limelight Sage

口 Coral Honeysuckle — Tracy’s personal favorite

口 Heuchera or Rex Begonia Vine — Betsy swears by the vibrant leaf colors (better preserved with the microwave press than typical pressing)

Cape Fuchsia is one our most unique blooms… and we love the color for our fall gardens! While not native, the hummingbirds and butterflies enjoy the long tubular blooms, and the blooms persist from mid summer through fall! Perennial, part to full soil, water regularly. taken in Painters Greenhouse by @paintersgreenhouse
