Hey friends, I just want to acknowledge the fantastic energy and paleo-geo talent that led to the success of our September Uinta Basin field work in northeastern Utah. Thanks to our Michiganders Maya and Mike and Texan transplanted to South Dakota Charlie! The theme of the field session was rain, mud, boots caked with mud, long-ass hikes, and Dolly Parton night at the Gateway Saloon! We had a great talk yesterday at @geosociety annual meeting in Denver showcasing our @uintabasinproject stratigraphic and paleoenvironmental data. Our lead geologist Dr. Paul Murphey @paleo_intel gave a fantastic talk. And our outstanding geochemist @paleololigo Dr. Penny Higgins gave us some amazing paleo temperature and paleo precipitation results that are going to shed some light on the MECO event in northern Utah. Greetings everyone! We had a highly productive field expedition to the Uinta Basin once the rains stopped and the mud dried out. We now have a type section through the Uinta Formation to the top of the Duchesne River Formation that is just under 2,000 meters thick! Greetings everyone! Cheers from the northern end of Halfway Hollow at the contact between the LaPoint and Starr Flat members of the late middle Eocene Duchesne River Formation. Hi everybody, we just wrapped up a fantastic fieldwork session in the Bridger formation in southwestern Wyoming. We found some very interesting fossils, including several specimens of primates. It’s been a successful trip and now we are excited to embark on another exciting field session in the Uinta Basin in Utah. Hi friends, here is a report of our first day of fieldwork in the upper Bridger Formation (middle Eocene) of southwestern Wyoming. We decided to stop off here on our way to continue our stratigraphic work for the United Basin Project. The Bridger is one of the classic middle Eocene fossil collecting area areas in North America.
