Pale Tray is a serving platter and display object that frames the small pleasures of everyday life.

It elevates the familiarly mundane into a carrier of intimate routines: making tea for a moment of
calm, preparing snacks for a loved one, showcasing objects from a recent trip, or placing down
keys and coins, signalling arrival at home. In doing so, it becomes a surface that quietly holds what matters.

The Pale Tray installation, composed of custom-designed product boxes,
a pedestal produced with the tray’s finish, and stacked trays, creates a setting where a merely functional object moves beyond its use and asserts its own presence in space.

other circle is a post-disciplinary platform rooted in creative culture. Our mission is to capture moments and energies across disciplines.

We often think of trays as purely functional objects, yet they quietly become the surface for everyday rituals and cherished belongings. Carrying drinks, snacks, and breakfast; displaying books, postcards, and keys — the things we reach for, and often value most.

Pale Tray comes in a custom-made cardboard box, designed to be reused long after unpacking.

Milan Design Week moves fast. With Serving Spring, planned for a fresh spring morning, we wanted to offer the opposite and asked nothing of our guests but to arrive.

Friends, new and old from the creative industry, joined us, and although originally planned as a one-and-a-half-hour gathering, we stayed together much longer. We remained with glasses in hand, filled with floral infusions based on blossoms hand-picked by @olya____o, as her personal herbal library was made public for the occasion, or placed them on the Pale Tray by @paleworks , designed with the intention of holding what matters. Serving Spring became a pause within a week that rarely allows for one.

other circle is a design exhibition taking place June 10th to 13th, 2026 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Launched in 2025, other circle explores and redefines contemporary design culture. It brings together art, design, fashion, food, and music in a curated setting that responds to the growing need for cross-disciplinary formats with real cultural presence.

We were back in Istanbul for a stage talk and exhibition with Pale Tray and Ayşe Erkmen’s latest book, Undone, which we designed last year for @dirimart. It was a pleasure giving a talk in our mother tongue, Turkish, and experiencing the work we have put out in various parts of the world from this perspective.

Paleworks is a Berlin-based creative studio founded by Ozan Akkoyun and Yağmur Rüzgar, developing modular structures that establish a dialogue between object, display, and space. Rooted in Bauhaus principles as graduates and former lecturers of the university, each line is drawn with intent—letting form follow function. Over several years, the studio has released only three collections, prioritising depth and research over frequency.

“Serving Spring”

Together, we are pleased to invite you to Serving Spring, a sensory experience to pause and to arrive in the present. It’s a spring morning in Milan.

Floral-infused beverages made from hand-picked and fermented young blossoms are served throughout the intimate gathering. Collected by Olya Tarasyeyeva over the past few months and designed exclusively for this occasion, they are presented in various colours on the Pale Tray installation by Paleworks. The new aluminium collection, born from the idea that a tray is a gesture, emphasises the quiet act of carrying what matters.

A music set curated by @quintonmulvey enhances the immersive atmosphere.

Hosted at Deoron during Milan Design Week 2026, Serving Spring unfolds through taste, visuals, and music.

Founded in 2017 by Ozan Akkoyun and Yağmur Rüzgar, Paleworks emerged from an ongoing curiosity of the founders in each other’s differing practices and the constant exchange this produced. From this foundation, Paleworks is rooted in an understanding of creativity as a unified discipline. This approach underpins their work across object design, creative direction & consultancy, visual identity, and photography, allowing projects to move fluidly between the tangible and digital. Their multidisciplinary work has been exhibited internationally, including the Bauhaus Museum, Maxim Gorki Theater, Milan Design Week, Berlin Art Week, other circle, Conceptual Biennale, Deutsches Design Museum, and the Venice Architecture Biennale. by @paleworks
