Back from Copenhagen

This year’s @3daysofdesign was all about reconnecting with the design community, catching up with our partner @pleasewaittobeseated, meeting new people and finding inspiration across the city.

While many visitors come to @3daysofdesign for the major brands, what inspired us most this year were the independent exhibitions, emerging designers and experimental formats. They were where we found some of the festival’s most exciting ideas and unexpected discoveries.

Among the highlights that stayed with us were @ukurant_, where @casparfischer’s „To Brick or Not To Brick“ was one of our favourite discoveries, „Seeking Sails“ by @hannes.and.fritz, @s.t.o.p_g.o at the Goethe Institut curated by @hahn_cuestawolf, @deoron, where @justushilfenhaus’s modular sofa stood out to us, and @other.circle at @thelabcph, featuring inspiring contributors such as @paleworks, @nm3.xyz, @innenkreis, @do__blok and @kpmberlin × @sucukundbratwurst.

Paleworks + other circle

Pale Tray is a serving platter and display object that frames the small pleasures of everyday life.

It elevates the familiarly mundane into a carrier of intimate routines: making tea for a moment of
calm, preparing snacks for a loved one, showcasing objects from a recent trip, or placing down
keys and coins, signalling arrival at home. In doing so, it becomes a surface that quietly holds what matters.

The Pale Tray installation, composed of custom-designed product boxes,
a pedestal produced with the tray’s finish, and stacked trays, creates a setting where a merely functional object moves beyond its use and asserts its own presence in space.

other circle is a post-disciplinary platform rooted in creative culture. Our mission is to capture moments and energies across disciplines.

It feels like this year is carrying a different kind of energy. The most valuable part of Copenhagen Design Week and @3daysofdesign wasn’t on display. It was the people. The people I met, the friends I spent time with, and the conversations that somehow went beyond design. People who believe in each other, share ideas, make plans for the future, and genuinely care about what they are building. Being around that kind of energy is rare. It reminds you how much can happen when passionate people come together with a sense of purpose and a clear point of view. I left Copenhagen with a sense that something is shifting. A year with new momentum, new collaborations, new possibilities and hope. Thank you, Copenhagen, and everyone who made these days what they were. On a personal note, I’m especially grateful to have had the opportunity to reimagine a furniture object together with @savoofficeseating and, for the first time, be part of an exhibition during @3daysofdesign . I’m also proud to see my friends from @karstberlin as part of the exhibition in collaboration with @toni_donau for @simonebookservices .

Milan Design Week moves fast. With Serving Spring, planned for a fresh spring morning, we wanted to offer the opposite and asked nothing of our guests but to arrive.

Friends, new and old from the creative industry, joined us, and although originally planned as a one-and-a-half-hour gathering, we stayed together much longer. We remained with glasses in hand, filled with floral infusions based on blossoms hand-picked by @olya____o, as her personal herbal library was made public for the occasion, or placed them on the Pale Tray by @paleworks , designed with the intention of holding what matters. Serving Spring became a pause within a week that rarely allows for one.
