Loosening up with watercolours. Sun light coming straight to my face during most of the morning. What a bliss ✨

Recently I've challenged myself in a new way. I've facilitated a proto ‘introduction to oil painting workshop’ for the first time. It was really a test-drive for myself since I was in the position of facilitator for the first time ever. Have to add that the fact it was in English was a huge milestone for me. I'm Brazilian, working class, it took loads of passion and effort to make of English my 2nd language. Let's also add that I'm shy and introvert. No, I definitely was not in my comfort zone. But you know what, I actually enjoyed it so much! I was able to make some sense after all and a dear group of 5 people enjoyed themselves with oil paint and brushes. During a bright morning and afternoon each of them painted a value study, a colour wheel and a simple still life. I thank them for their trust and have to say they did an amazing job! Hopefully I will be looking into more opportunities to facilitate painting workshops in the near future.

A special thanks to friends who generously lent their desk easels or offered to lend 💙🙌 and to my dear @rafaeldealmeida_dop for these lovely pics 📸 artists united are unstoppable! 🔥

Painting en plein air by the river ✨

#oilpainting #pleinairpainting #landscapepainting #ireland #autum

Such a pretty day. Felt specially lucky to be outside.

After an hour or so scouting finally settled by the river in this beautiful corner.

The moment when anything is possible.

Light was so gorgeous. The despair of wanting to paint everything.

The palette of the day. Actually added Cadmium red hue to it later on.

This colour 😤 I’m so in love I could marry it.

Just mesmerised by the light…

Blocking done, nicely spread paints 3 2 1 to the mess…

Enjoying where I’m heading

The clouds in the water! 🤩

It’s a wrap!

Nuncio Road II, 2026
Oil painting on canvas 40 x 60 cm

A reinterpretation of a previous painting, it took me some time to figure out how I should finished it. The decision to leave the houses undetailed turning them into enclosed masses challenged my representational tendencies while leaving no doubt about where the eyes should go: two windows, two worlds.

I am working on a series of oil paintings these days. Although I love painting landscape and en plein air, my practice seems to be shifting towards something more mysterious and onyric. Will be sharing some new work soon! Stay tuned ✨
