Namaste 🙏🏽 I am Pandit Neall Prashad 👋

My spiritual journey as a Vedic Pandit began when I was 15 years old —
driven by questions about truth, purpose, compassion, and what it really means to live Dharma.

Over the years I’ve learned that Dharma isn’t limited to rituals or temples — it’s a lived experience, a way of walking through this world with awareness and integrity. 🕉️

The Dharma of Listening is my newest initiative — a guide and reflection created to help Hindus, Pandits, and spiritual leaders approach mental health through compassion and presence.

We often forget that listening — truly listening — is itself a sacred act. This video walks through the Dharma of Listening guide and the new Mental Health section of my website, where I share resources to help our community break stigma and create healing spaces.

Are you born a Brahmin, or do you become one through the way you live? 🕉️

In Bhagavad Gita 18.42, Shri Krishna describes the qualities of a Brahmin through discipline, self-control, purity, knowledge, and wisdom. But what happens when spiritual authority is claimed through lineage rather than lived through those qualities?

☕ Chai Bhais Episode 6 is now on YouTube. Watch the full conversation.

What do you believe makes someone a true Brahmin? 👇🏽

We can spend a lifetime seeking answers and still leave with questions. There is humility in knowing this—and perhaps peace in accepting it.

Reposting one of my favorite videos from last year for World Vegan Day. 🌱

This video speaks to why I choose this way of life.

“Vegan” is a label. What gives it meaning for me is the daily practice of paying attention—to who is affected by my choices, to the suffering I can help prevent, and to whether my actions honor the values I speak about.

Compassion. Ahimsa. Reverence for life.

I want those values to show up in the everyday decisions I make, including what I put on my plate.

I’m still learning. But living with greater intention, and bringing my choices closer to my conscience, is something I will always find worth doing.

For the animals. For the values I hold. For the person I’m trying to become. 💚

What does our worship mean if someone at home is afraid of us?

I recorded this as part of a longer reflection I intended to share after Navratri. I didn’t get to post it then, but this message has no expiry date.

As October—Domestic Violence Awareness Month—comes to a close, the conversation must continue.

Reverence for Maa should carry into how we treat the people around us—especially behind closed doors.

Not all abuse leaves a bruise. Fear, humiliation, threats, and control deserve to be taken seriously.

Dharma must be lived beyond the days of worship. Everyone deserves a home where they can finally exhale. 🙏

“You know how he does get when he drink.”

That sentence has excused too much in our Indo-Caribbean community.

We owe our families more than an apology the next morning. And those who grew up around drinking, anger, and fear deserve support—not instructions to forget it.

We can love our culture and take responsibility for what needs to change.

Let the next generation inherit our traditions without inheriting our fear.

If this speaks to you, share it to help open a conversation. You don’t have to share your personal experiences publicly to be heard or deserve help.

🙏🏽 Namaste.

When does sharing Dharma cross the line into invading someone’s privacy? 🕉️

There’s a difference between spreading spiritual knowledge and broadcasting a family’s most sacred moments without their consent.

In Episode 6, the Chai Bhais discuss why intention, respect, and responsibility must come before content.

Should every sacred moment be shared with the world?

Please watch the entire video before commenting.

In light of all the questions and opinions circulating online, I’d like to give my thoughts on why Animal Sacrifice is contradictory to the principles of Sanatana Dharma.

In this video, I talk about what draws peoplen to the practice, why many young people find it appealing and why these motivations are not aligned with what Sanatana Dharma asks us to pursue at a deeper spiritual level.

I welcome any respectful questions and feedback on this topic. Please keep it civil 🙏🏽

If someone promises to fix your life with one ritual, one payment, or one special remedy, pause.

Prayer has meaning. Ritual has meaning. So does the guidance of a knowledgeable, caring Pandit.

But none of these removes our responsibility to examine how we live, change harmful habits, and make amends when we’ve hurt someone.

We cannot pray for peace while continuing to cause harm. We cannot ask for wisdom while refusing to listen.

There are no shortcuts in Dharma. A Pandit can guide you, teach you, and pray alongside you. The work of living those teachings is still yours.

Part 4 of “A Pandit’s Responsibility.”

What’s one teaching you’re actively trying to put into practice?

🙏🏽 Namaste.

If a Pandit can’t predict your future or erase your karma, what can a Pandit actually do for you?

We can listen, teach, pray with you, conduct meaningful ceremonies, and help you bring Dharma into everyday life. We should also recognize when you need support beyond our training.

Prayer and practical help can go together. Needing a doctor, therapist, or counselor does not mean your faith is weak.

A Pandit’s Responsibility | Part 3

What has meaningful spiritual guidance looked like in your life?

🙏🏽 Namaste.

“What about the other animals?”

Their lives matter, too. That’s why my compassion doesn’t end with the cow.

For me, Ahimsa asks us to look at our everyday choices and consider who may be hurt by them—even when that harm happens far from our sight.

Every animal has a life of their own. Our ability to make different choices gives us an opportunity to protect that life.

Has a relationship with one animal changed the way you see others? I’d love to hear your story.

🙏🏽 Namaste.
