✨BACK IN THE STUDIO✨
Took a week away from the studio to go on a work/bucket list trip with the family - but before I left I busted out some absolutely beautiful work for @the_stillness_collective members, including this piece by @_heatherlyon that hangs in the window @space538 right now.

Printed on #hahnemühle rice paper, I couldn't be happier with how this image printed and now hangs.

I missed the opening, but excited to spend first Friday (this week) in awe of their collective work at Space Gallery 🙌♥️ by @paper.tides

HAPPY International Women's Day to all those who celebrate 🤍🖤
...even though your digital calendar erased it.

This is a month that I celebrate as a business owner because it means something so personally significant. I created Paper Tides to go against the grain in a profession largely run by men, 3.5 years ago. Since starting this business, I have spent over half of it pregnant and with a baby in the studio. I run this business solo, and ride each high and low alone. I get to choose the work and clients I take on, and for that, Paper Tides is in the top 5 list of what brings me absolute joy + proves that women can hold the power to do anything and I'm so proud of what I can do at Paper Tides 🙏

It's been hard these past few months to continue working through when my brain has been in a real hellscape and I've felt the economy slowly dipping. Even though I think women are strong, and have way more power than we use, it's been so disheartening to watch myself and Paper Tides become alienated at times, and see power taken away from us. I'm so proud of businesses that are using their platforms and doing HEROIC work, but it's exhausting and I applaud you all and hope to join in soon. I just gotta power up...

In the meantime, I'll be more quiet on here and still use it lightly as my one marketing/communication tool. I hope that I can hop on here and still have followers, and show you all the beautiful work I get to do when it feels right!🤞

🔥HOT TIP🔥 : remember that supporting small businesses, and those that are getting erased from calendars, is really f'ing important right now. Please stop overspending on "stuff" and save those pennies to spend meaningfully. THANK YOU to all of those who do with me 💛

🫶 Sending love to everyone who is trying to move forward in the timeline of progression of what it means to be a woman and F U to anyone who has helped set us back 👋 fin.

creating an online shop for a 'burg client/friend before holiday orders (eek!) + wanted to share their past work that we first worked on together ❤️

I'd take all of these if I could and just drown in the rich colorful shapes 🥰

mourning the end of summer 🥹—and all the abundance from my garden, the full sunny days, etc. BUT this weekend we get to celebrate some of Maine’s most creative, hardworking people who show us all that Maine has at the Common Ground Country Fair 🏵️

@claire.loon.baldwin made this illustration, originally submitted for the fair’s iconic design, and now it’s part of a special @libertygraphicstees release available at the fair this weekend. I’m completely obsessed🙌Claire’s illustrations are so thoughtful— she immerses herself in every subject she illustrates 💛

a fun summer reproduction project for @tmcph Tyler McPhee 🍄

This original watercolor was scanned then made into a 18"x 24" edition on Hahnemuhle Hemp paper. The prints will be for sale at @space538 for the @newenglandartbookfair -this weekend ! Go snag one of these absolutely amazing reproductions and check out Tyler's front window display 🤩

the last of summer ☀️

the studio will be taking a break August 24–28 to soak up the last week of summer 😭

the short Maine summer was made extra sweet (+ chaotic) by having Niko in and out of the studio. 🙌 excited for his new school year to start and to reclaim the studio before the busy season.

🙏 thank you for such a wonderful, busy summer. I enjoyed fresh faces in the studio, focusing on local projects, giving my time to causes I'm passionate about, and finding joy with all the folks that have been with me for the past FIVE + YEARS ✨

watercolor week 🥰

Lots of large watercolor reproductions out the door. All printed on Hahnemuhle German Etching. Both clients opted to have the raw edge visible on the prints which is a fun illusion ✨

sometimes the lil' prints make a big impact in the studio. Each print is a reminder to get something off your screen and into something you can grasp and hold - no matter the size.

New photos of Paper Tides 🖤

I’ve been wanting to have someone document the studio for a while — not just the finished prints, but the messy middle that exists inside the Dromore Grange.

A huge thank you to Alyssa @alyssasoucy.photo for spending some time here and capturing it all so beautifully on film. She somehow made my tiny studio look cool 😂

The large print in these photos is actually her photograph from her visit to the desert — I’m completely obsessed with it.

Summer is moving fast over here — lots of exciting projects, and plenty of salty nights in Phippsburg.

I’ll be taking a few dates off in July, so if you have something you’re hoping to get printed, reach out soon and we can work it into the schedule.
