📚December Reading Wrap Up📚

December was such a great reading month, and I wanted to share some highlights!!😄

I did a lot of rereading in December, and I’m so glad I did! In a Jam, From Lukov with Love, and Love Her or Lose Her are still some of my favorites! and YES! ‼️CAN CONFIRM‼️ You Deserve Each Other is my TOP READ OF 2023!! It’s just SO GOOD!!!😭😍❤️ I read this one at the very beginning of the year (started out with a bang😂) and it became an instant all time favorite. I just KNEW I’d have to reread it when it got cold again and it was no less amazing the second time around! Honestly, rn this one’s sitting in first place for me for favorite book of all time!💯🥇🫶🏼

Then as y’all may know, l started reading Ice Planet Barbarians again!😄 I love this series so much and I will forever and always sing Ruby’s praises!🥰 But I did take a break from it after Barbarian’s Mate to wait for the special edition of the 7th book to come out (TOMORROW!!!😍) and I tried out my first historical romance, Annie’s Song!!😱😄 It was definitely different than what I normally read, but for the most part I really enjoyed it and I’m looking forward to reading more!!😄

Then I don’t really know how it happened but I ended up reading the A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder series and OH. MY. GOD. It was BRUTAL!!😭 So intense! I feel like I will never emotionally recover from this series. It WRECKED me!!😂😭 DESTROYED me!! I am not okay.😂 After I finished it I literally sat on my bed and stared at the wall for an hour.😂 I am traumatized, but it was good though!😂🫶🏼

After that I knew I had to read something happy and light so I ended up rereading The Deal and The Love Hypothesis. TLH is one of my all time favs but I hadn’t reread it in a long time and I’m so glad I did!! I seriously love this book so much!!😭😭 And this time around I had a copy with the bonus chapter from Adam’s pov and OMG I didn’t think it was possible to love this man more, but clearly I was wrong. It was so flipping good!!😭😍❤️

So yeah, that was my December! Such a great way to end the year! And I can’t wait to see what 2024 has in store. How was your December?

❄️ Happy Snowed In with the Viking Release Day!! ❄️

I LOVED this book!!😍 LOVED it! It was such a FANTASTIC read!! It was so flipping cute and sweet and had me feeling all warm and fuzzy.🥰 I loved the world, the characters, the conflict, the PINING, everything!!😭🫶🏼 I HIGHLY recommend!!😄

Snowed in With the Viking follows Embla, an under-appreciated nanny living in a village in Norway. After finding herself trapped in a snowstorm in the mountains, Embla seeks shelter in a cave where she meets Runar. Runar, the “wild man” from the woods around whom all sorts of rumors exist. But as she’s forced to spend the winter with him for her safety, Embla finds that none of them are true. The longer she stays with him, the more she sees how amazing he is and the more confused she gets about what she wants. When spring finally returns, will Embla choose to stay with Runar? Or will she go back to the village with her people?

I really can’t overstate how much I enjoyed this book. Everything about it was so fun! But I especially loved how obsessed Runar was with Embla.😭 He literally had no idea how to talk to people or make her like him, but he tried so hard for her. He wanted her to be satisfied and happy with him. Even when it made him uncomfortable, he would do anything to make her smile.😭😭

This was just such a cozy winter read, and I truly can’t recommend it enough!😭 It’s definitely one of my top reads for the year, and is perfect to read during the holiday season!!🥰

Hey y’all.👋🏼

I know I’ve been a bit awol recently, but I’ve been taking some time off to just relax and enjoy the season.🥰 The semester was brutal and I needed a break.😂 I also really needed a break from this account too. I mean I’ve LOVED making my own bookstagram, finding new book recs, meeting new friends, and all the other amazing things I’ve experienced since starting it. It’s been wonderful!❤️ But no denying it’s a lot of work.😂

And I feel like it’s been taking me away from the thing this account is all about: reading! I’ve been getting so caught up in worrying about what I’m gonna post, all the arcs I’ve been getting, and what everyone else is doing that I feel a bit overwhelmed. I feel like I’m not really happy with the content I’ve been sharing.

So I’ve been taking a break and doing a lot of thinking about my bookstagram and what I want out of it. I started this account to make friends and share my love for books, and I really want to get back to that. Idk maybe it’ll be boring but I think I want to share more of just what’s happening with me day to day. Books I’m currently reading/excited for, fun trips to the library, my opinions on things, etc. I want to be real. Idk, I’m still trying to figure it out🤷🏼‍♀️ but I’m gonna keep thinking about it/experimenting with it and we’ll see what happens.🥰

So, I thought I’d start rn and share what’s been going on with me. No time like the present, right?😂

This past week I’ve been rereading Ruby Dixon’s Ice Planet Barbarians series! (Sorry not sorry if you’re tired of me talking about it. I’ll never stop.😉😌) I don’t really know why I decided to reread it, but I’m not mad about it! I love this series sooo much, and I’m excited to visit it again!🥰 This time around tho I’m also going to be reading some of her other series like the Risdaverse and Corsairs. They’re set in the same universe, but for some reason I didn’t read them last time.🤷🏼‍♀️ But anyway I’m super excited, and I will keep you guys updated on the adventure!😉😁

I read Sara Ohlin’s book Winter Wonderland Love recently and absolutely LOVED it!!😍❤️🫶🏼 And after I posted about it, Sara reached out to me to ask if she could send me some bookish goodies!😭 I can’t tell you how much it means to me when authors send me stuff as if I’m someone important.😂😭 I don’t mean to be all “uwu 👉🏻👈🏻” about it, but it really is just so incredibly sweet and means the world to me!😭🥰

Oh my god I LOVED this book!!😭 It was such a sweet, cozy, holiday read! I loved how gone for each other they were right from the get go. Tomas is so doting and Caleb is so sweet. And they’re both awkward and nervous because of how much they like each other.😂 They’re both such cinnamon rolls and they deserve the world.🥰

Their connection and relationship is so sweet, and I loved watching them bond and grow. They both feel tired, overworked, and under appreciated for all that they do. They feel alone, and end up finding companionship in each other. They develop a very beautiful relationship that’s intimate and filled with love but remains platonic. And IS STILL JUST AS IMPORTANT AND FULFILLING as any other kind of relationship. I loved how they were able to find something that worked for them, and I’d love to see more of this dynamic represented in romance books!!💚

🌨️ Snowed in With the Viking 🌨️

Oh my god I LOVED this book!!😍 LOVED it! Something about these books that take place in the wild with a hunter-gatherer-esque culture just hit different for me.😭 Idk I guess it just scratches an itch in my lizard brain.😂

Anyway this was a FANTASTIC read!! It was so flipping cute and sweet!!😭 It just had me feeling all warm and fuzzy.🥰 And I absolutely LOVED the historical elements/context of the book. It takes place in 825 A.D in Norway, so it features a ton of old Norse culture/mythology as well as Sámi culture. It was SUPER fun to learn/read about, and I really loved it!😄

📚 Barnes & Noble Book Haul 📚

When your friend asks if you want to go to Bath & Body Works and you know there’s a Barnes & Noble right next door, the only correct answer is yes.😌

I mean, did I NEED more books?? No… 🫣

But I’ll just call it an early Christmas present to myself.😌 At least that’s my justification.😂
