Stuff lately 🌞 this month starting well 🌱
Alot of sketching and doodling. Here’s bits and pieces of my journey:

1. A drawing of my outfit inspired by the label that was part of a new journal

2. I found a picture of an old man carrying a sleeping pig on its back and I just HAD to draw them

3. A night where I could not find a last minute companion, so I took myself on a date

4. On that self date, I found beauty in the shapes around me

5. I left myself unhinged

6. A 24 year old was explaining a scene in a movie he wants to do by @paperboatdoodle

After the unfortunate incident of accidentally summoning a ghost that might or might’ve stopped my recording. I present to you my latest lab creation! With the tarot card I drew and my salt and pepper cat shakers! ITS…ALIVE!

What is it? It’s a hypnotized cat with a cool pumpkin drink that may or may not be edible. You have been warned. 🎃

A result from the first session of The Drawing Circle organized by @themisfitsbh

It was super fun hosting this!

The prompt:
A play of “You are what you eat”
Create a dish/drink that has objects that identifies you and an attribute you want want to possess. Play with the ingredients and see what happens. What would your dish look like if you were to harness “courage” or “patience”?

I decided I wanted to create a recipe page of what my dish of self patience would look like.
Got a tiny spoon to scoop my cup ye olde dirt from my plants. Nourishing!

Last Ramadan, @we.are.amana had a Gergaoon gathering for it’s community of creatives and friends. We each had to create a piece of ourselves (a photo, a music album, a drawing, a collage tool kit, a written piece, etc) to share our creations with each other.

For those who don’t know what Gergaoon is, its a tradition we have in the middle of Ramadhan, where we give out candy to children. In this case, we are giving out our works.

I received @seeminglysara’s treat which was a short story “Mr.Gone”, printed in a card format which she had collaged works in it as well. Without spoiling much, the story was imaginative and left me wondering about the mystery of the character “Mr.Gone”, who’s main task was to be in the same room as Sara constantly controlling her decisions.
This drawing was my take of her character, and an imaginative book cover 👀

An archive of my creative side of life.
I’ll be honest for a while I have disappeared from this account and tried to come back a couple of times to revive but there was just something that holding me back and I wasn’t sure what was it. Why couldn’t I create? Why couldn’t I make art for myself anymore? Why was it so hard for me to get back to my sketchbook?

After quitting my job which took alot from my mental energy, I thought I’d get back to it like ⚡️this! I didn’t…

I realized fear was consuming me. Perfectionism was on a throne. If it wasn’t perfect, why do it? Why suffer a couple of rejections?

It took me 3 months to go through grief, reflection and healing my artist (Artist Way Book, whats up). I’m going loose and rediscovering my artist and playing with what I have.

Thank you to everyone who’s been supporting me since day 1. There will be alot of style changes, more stories, less of what I think is perfect. Looking forward to this one hell of a bumpy ride!

1. An experimental process of soft pastels, water colour and coloured pencils. Turning shapes into sea critters.

In the midst of the global chaos this week, this was me trying to regulate while playing with colour combinations.

It started with I wanted to get inspo from playful looking subjects on Pinterest. Found this kid who was wearing a cardboard cut out of a flower and she looked proud but the shy to express too much type.

Found colour combinations that I liked and flowed, while at the same time I would read and listen to news of what’s been happening. All the lies, deceit and manipulation the oppressors have been feeding. All while my country might also be affected while also the media turning a blind side on the oppressed while also while also while also…

The colouring helped me but not as much as my cats that brought me some comfort in their fur and the nose boops they allowed me while I lied down with them on the cold tiles.

I then wanted to draw the same figure, but make it into a cat as my cat was infront me when I had my sketchbook. The ultimate comfort in the midst of chaos.

Keep your eyes on the news, keep your eyes on the oppressed. Feeling this deeply says alot, and remember to find ways to regulate. by @paperboatdoodle

Previously, I’ve chosen prompts with everyone on my stories and I wanted to showcase how these words can spark inspiration and even get you out of your regular thinking process. I had so much fun with these! I got:

Charter: Robot 🤖
Environment: A garden that glows at night 🪴✨
Feel: A moment in awe🌟
Followers suggestions: A duck with a gun 🐤🔫

Not gna lie, it was easy for me when it came to the duck and robot, UNTIL I had to make the garden GLOW. The environment was tricky for me as I rarely draw detailed backgrounds (getting out of my comfort zone ✨). I was satisfied with the drawing but not with the colours, so I ended up coloring it on photoshop. I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER WITH THIS 🌸 what do you think?
