I am delighted, honoured and completely blown away to be able to announce that I have been awarded an @aceagrams 'Developing Your Creative Practice' Grant!

I have been awarded this @aceagrams grant to undertake a 9 month period of research and development to revive forgotten stitches and techniques; to learn new skills and push the limits of my contemporary manipulation of paper with stitch. As well as learning more 'lost' stitches, I will work with other creatives and mentors to enrich my practice. I will be taking time to learn, master and translate the art of lost stitches for use with paper...

I'm excited to see where this will lead, so please do watch this space to see how work develops, and feeds into my future workshop practice.

A MASSIVE thank you to the brilliant @katie.honnor who took my garbled jumble of ideas and made it into beautiful and concise prose for the application. And to @printgarageiain for making sense of the dates and numbers, and putting them into the spreadsheet. For years I have tried to hide my dyslexia, but by starting to ask for help amazing things can happen...

Beautiful architectural plans of @thevyne_nt are serving as both the inspiration and the paper I will use for the current dress I am working on...

These are for an installation of nine life-size Regency dresses that will be part of 'Twelve Days of Christmas' at @thevyne_nt that will run 21 November 2026 to 3 January 2027 (closed 24-25 December).

Keep an eye on our channels to see more as the project takes shape...

Working on the two public art commissions at the moment is making me think back to making this for @brewhouseartscentre this time last year. And as luck would have it I was sent this recent picture of the piece, as the wall behind it had been painted to show off the work to it's best advantage.

This permanent lighting installation of scale replicas of a 288-pint Barrel, a 144-pint Kilderkin and a 72-pint Firkin were created through creative consultation art workshops where I collected stories to commemorate the important role women have on the town’s social fabric and brewing culture today.

Well this is unheard of, as I rarely share pictures of myself, so two in one day is ridiculous!!

But it turns out it is three years today that we exchanged contracts for the beautiful new home for my gallery and art workshop space @unittwelve - so that COULD NOT go unmentioned!

Having spent the previous 13 1/2 years in a leaky cow shed I am still pinching myself to own such a magical space!!

The hunt for the holy grail has ended!

That thing when you picture exactly how you are going to make something, but the thing you imagined was readily available doesn't actually exist...

However thanks to the excellent researching skills of the utterly brilliant @fran_buxton_mixed_media (and a very kind person who answered the phone at customer services at @bandq_uk Wolverhampton) I now have an even better thing than the thing I actually imagined. Win win. by @paperjennifer

A super satisfying pile of tiny bells are starting to appear on my desk that are patiently awaiting rings to push them out into the bell shape 🔔

This is the smallest of the 3 sizes of bells, at just 12cm high, that will be part of my site specific Bell lighting installation at @claydonhousent for their 'House of Bells` this Christmas...
