Day 11 of #carvedecember2025 is 'incredible.'

This had me stumped for a bit but then I just thought of all the incredibles in my life and how lucky I am. Most people are amazing, we have to hang on to the fact that they are not all massive dicks like the ones we are forced to wade though in our daily feed. Our incredibles are what keep us going. This was better in my head but it's been a long day 😅
Today's #carvedecember2025 prompt is 'water.'

A friend once said I'd been born too close to water which apparently means that I cry a lot. Whatevs. My dad once said (all these people saying things eh? Did we ask you? Nope) that my apparently embarassingly high level of empathy (the reason I cry a lot) was self indulgent. Again whatevs.

Ok, should have just done some tears. Whatevs.

Day 9 of #carvedecember2025 is 'open'

I still have a bag of random unlabelled keys that came with me from my old house 3 years ago so if any of my ex neighbours are unable to open the shed/garage/patio doors, I could be your woman. And sorry. Miss you 😬

Day 8 #carvedecember2025 prompt is 'candy.'

I spent most of my early teens at the local stables, bombing horses round fields, friday gymkhanas, leading beginner rides in all weathers for 10p an hour and hanging out in the absolutely shoulda been condemned caravan. There was a shop along the road - basically someone's front room of their small house - that sold the most amazing array of sweets. This was the late 70s/early 80s - classic sweet era - and we'd take whatever bikes were lying around and pelt it down for fizz bombs, flying saucers, midget gems, gobstoppers, rhubarb and custards and black jacks. Oh and single fags. Like I said late 70s/early 80s. Our 10ps went a long way back then.

Day 7 prompt for #carvedecember2025 is 'numerous.'

My phone pinged at 3am telling me I had new likes on a recent @papercut.punk post and I immediately rolled over to have a look. I was already awake but I hate myself for doing that. Not that I really care, none of my pages are even business ones but we have become so addicted to our likes that it can detract from the reason we are here. I often think 'what would they like me to make?' instead of just making the authentically crazy shit that's in my head that brought everyone to me in the first place.

The algorithms make it impossible too - I had 300 + likes on a story showing my gin advent calendar from @shewolffe when I regularly get only 20 on actual papercutting ones. What can I say? Boozers the lot of you.

Day 6 prompt for #carvedecember2025 is 'home.'

The new estate where I live is a mix of small houses, colonies and blocks of flats. I'm in a colony and its small but super lovely, safe and warm. One of my favourite things to do though is to walk Boo last thing at night around the flats and look up at what's going on through the floor length windows we all have. I love the snippets of life especially this time of year when the lights and trees are up and it looks magical. Last new years eve you could see all the parties, the families arriving, the kids running riot, the opting outers watching telly (my kind of NYE) I took a pic last night but it's not great as it was raining and also I didn't want to find myself on the estate Facebook page " there's some oddball taking photos of our flats, watch out..."

Todays #carvedecember2025 prompt is 'aged'

Moaning about getting older is a national obsession. If this year has taught me anything it's that nothing is guaranteed, each year you get is a f**king privilege so get on with it and squeeze in all the joy with all the people and all the dogs that you can.

I used to be embarrassed of my age but I'm 60 next year and intend to celebrate for the whole of 2026. Who's in? It'll be fun! I kinda love getting older. I've never felt more confident or brave or contented with my small life and am mighty proud of myself for getting here.

Today, I went to work in sparkly fishnet socks and one of my much loved pairs of creepers. Six pairs is not too many, stop it. I got side eyed by a man - not in a sexy way but in a what the hell is going on with your footwear kinda way and I couldn't have been happier. Aged? Yup. Bothered? Nope.

Ah, yet another unsuspecting project ive managed to make all about me!
